VH1 Storytellers: Jay-Z: Life of an American Gangster was taped at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn on Monday night. The hour-long series which features intimate musical performances and the first-hand stories behind the artist’s songs. VH1 Storytellers: Jay-Z: Life of an American Gangster will be aired November 8 at 9:00 PM on VH1.
Jay-Z is to expand his clothing empire to include a line of cosmetics. The hip-hop giant has teamed up with cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden to launch the new line alongside Rocawear.
“It is a really cool time for Jay-Z working with Elizabeth Arden and he is delighted about it.”
Jay-Z is DJ’ing for Sirius Satellite Radio Hip-Hop Nation channel – which will be suitably renamed Jay-Z Nation – for one week starting on Monday (Today). Jay will be playing some of his own tracks as well as those of his favourite rappers. Chief executive of Sirius, Scott Greenstein, says: “Jay-Z is one of the pre-eminent creative forces in the music industry. Over the last decade, he has truly changed the face of hip-hop and music culture.”
