Motown Museum Cancelled; Plans For Motown Center Museum In Detroit Scrapped Due To Lack Of Funding
Plans to honor the historically Black recording label Motown with a museum in Detroit, Michigan have been scrapped, due to lack of funding. City officials and Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr spent six years planning the $28 million museum, but they can’t find the funding to launch the Motown Center. Planners are now considering a project on a smaller scale. The museum would house Motown memorabilia and tribute items to the label’s soul legends, including Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.

Pimp C Dead; UGK Rapper Pimp C Dead In Los Angeles Hotel
Pimp C, real name Chad Butler and one half of the rap duo UGK, was found dead in a hotel room this morning in Los Angeles. L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, located on the trendy Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They arrived at his sixth floor hotel room to find him in bed dead. Pimp C was thirty-three years old.
