Beyonce is reportedly in talks to star as “Maggie the Cat” in Broadway’s upcoming all African-American revival of Tennessee Williams’ classic play “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.” Show producers have reportedly changed the play’s opening date to accomodate Bey’s schedule.

Noted stage actress Audra McDonald was originally taped for the role of Maggie but was slated when producers decided they wanted Beyonce.

“I think Beyoncé’s an incredibly beautiful, talented singer. But the stage is a very difficult beast . . . a lot of people don’t understand how difficult it is not just to do it right once, but do it right eight times a week and keep it up,” Audra says.

The play, to be directed by legendary dancer Debbie Allen, is also set to star Deb’s sister Phylicia Rashad, LL Cool J, and Danny Glover.

Beyonce has such a monstrous work ethic I think she can pull it off. Good luck to her but even if she pulls it off perfectly people will find fault at something. That’s just how the world is. God bless you beyonce keep holding your head up high. People love to see you succeed but then they try their best to knock you down

This is BS! You don’t bumped Audra McDonald for Beyonce. True, Beyonce is a great performer, however her acting leaves much to be desired. And that’s on film where you can do multiple takes. The Broadway stage will eat her alive.
