Brandon Spikes Sex Tape Costs NFL Rookie Reebox Endorsement Deal
Brandon Spikes is a very hot name on the blogosphere these days.
The New England Patriots’ rookie linebacker has been nursing public shame ever since this 11-minute video of him receiving oral sex from a busty Kim Kardashian lookalike made its way to the Interwebs this week. Following in the footsteps of Montana Fishburne, Paris Hilton, and host of other sex tape hounds, the former University of Florida star has been caught butt, booty naked in the embarassing footage. Spikes’ agent, Terry Watson, has confirmed that the heavily-tattooed hulk in the video is, in face, Brandon.
“It was something that occurred before he became an NFL draftee and a New England Patriot. I think for anyone it would be an embarrassing situation,” Watson said. “Brandon has shown to many people the kind of person he is before and after being drafted in the second round. He’s hoping to put this behind him and looks forward to having a great football season.”
While some reports claim an anonymous e-mailer offered the video to DeadSpin.com for $1,500, the Spikes sex tape ultimately ended up on WorldStarHipHop.com. According to Watson, as a result of the scandal, Reebok recently pulled out of a finalized endorsement deal with Spikes, yanking a marketing agreement that would have netted the NFL star millions. The sportswear brand, however, has issued a statement denying that any such agreement was ever in place.
”The media reports that Reebok has terminated an endorsement contract with Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes are completely false. Reebok never had a deal with Brandon. The story was reported without confirmation from Reebok, and as a result inaccurate information is now being reported as fact. We had discussions with Brandon earlier this summer, as we do with many NFL players, but no agreement has been reached and he is not currently under contract with Reebok.”
