Taylor Swift picked up her first Moonman for Best Female Video for “You Belong To Me” at Sunday night’s ceremony but didn’t have the chance to finish her acceptance speech, thanks to the Grammy-winning egomaniac, who took the stage to interrupt her and praise pal Beyonce, who was nominated for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”

Janet Jackson performed a tribute to her brother Michael at the 26th annual MTV Music Video Awards, live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday. A montage of the star’s songs and videos played, including “Thriller,” “Bad,” “Smooth Criminal” and finally, “Scream,” the duet that won Michael and Janet a VMA in 1995.
In case you needed further confirmation that Kanye West is a jackass, here goes: The outspoken rapper interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at MTV’s 2009 Video Music Awards to declare that Beyonce’s popular “Single Ladies” music video should have received the award instead.

“Beyonce had the best video,” he said, snatching the microphone from Swift.
A speechless Taylor, visibly shaken, left the stage following the outburst.
Janet Jackson is planning a dance tribute to her late brother, The King of Pop Michael Jackson, at next weekend’s 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards, according to reports.

MTV just announced that R&B megastar Beyonce has been tapped to perform her current charttoping single, “Sweet Dreams,” at the ceremony in New York Sept. 13.

Beyonce is nominated for nine trophies at this year’s VMAs.
The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Russell Brand, will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9PM ET.
Jay-Z — whose single “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” is nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Male Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards — will perform a song from his eagerly-awaited album, The Blueprint 3 at the live ceremony in New York City September 12.
