Hov and A. Keys had been due to take the stage at last night’s World Series kickoff, but their performance was delayed due to inclimate weather.

The superstars will sing their song “Empire State of Mind” off Jay-Z’s album, The Blueprint 3, and then Alicia will sing the national anthem. Their performance was moved to Game 2 due to bad weather predicted for Wednesday, which could make for wet conditions that will make performing dangerous.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Nov. 22 on ABC: Superstar Jay Z and hubby-snatchin’ songbird Alicia Keys are set to perform the charttopping collabo “Empire State of Mind” at the 2009 American Music Awards next month. The duo performed the single — featured on Hov’s Blueprint 3 LP — at the MTV VMAs last month, but irksome rapper Lil Mama crashed the stage during the performance.
Show producer Larry Klein is excited to have booked the duo for a redux: “We are thrilled to have Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on stage together, both are such talented artists, it’s sure to be a memorable performance.”
