Devar Hurd, 31, was sentenced to two years behind bars in a Manhattan courtroom on Thursday. In December, Hurd was convicted of stalking and other charges and has already served about eight months while awaiting trial and sentencing. The Grammy Award-winning singer’s mother, Tina Douglas, said she was frightened and disgusted by messages that included photos of Hurd’s genitals and of the Douglas family’s Glen Cove, Long Island home.

Hurd said the messages were intended as friendly flirting with Ashanti, who he claims was in love with him. After Hurd’s conviction in December, doctors diagnosed the aspiring rapper with a delusional disorder. Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Thomas Farber recommended psychiatric treatment for Hurd in prison.

Ashanti’s manager mom Tina Douglas confirms that the “Foolish” star has teamed with Reveille Productions for the reality contest: “It’s an unscripted television show that is definitely music related. We’ll be revealing more in the coming weeks. She has her own record label, called Written Entertainment, and the show is going to revolve around her label… It’s going to be really big.”

Ashanti’s got a psycho! Authorities in New York are investigating an Indiana man they say has been stalking he Long Island-born songbird — even bombarding her manager mother with lewd text messages and pictures of his genitals, prosecutors say.

Devar Hurd, a 31-year-old wannabe music mogul, is accused of stalking and harassing Ashanti and Shia Douglas, as well as their mother Tina, with 32 messages between May 29 and July 18. Hurd is also suspected of making numerous sexually-explicit phone calls specifying sex acts he wanted to perform on the mom and her daughters.

“Hey Tina baby, how u doing sexy,” Hurd text messaged Tina Douglas’ cell phone last summer.

“Tell Shani I’m coming straight home from work to put in sum overtime. U know how I do, LOL.”

The next day, he texted over a picture of his exposed genitals, along with this message: “Here’s a pic I had laying around for the ladies in sum of my birthday suit lol.”

Hurd also showed up to several venue where Ashanti was performing and shared masturbatng fantasies of sex romps with the star. He was arrested in late July and has been in police custody in New York City ever since. He faces 28 misdemeanor counts of stalking and aggravated harassment in a possible trial in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday.

Hurd could be sentenced to up to two years in prison if convicted.
