Barack Obama has effectively clinched the Democratic nomination for President, The Associated Press reports. The 46-year-old Senator from Illinois outlasted former First Lady Hillary Clinton in the historic run for the White House. He now goes on to face Arizona Senator John McCain in the General Election this November. Barack Obama is the first black candidate to lead a major party’s campaign for President.
Barack Obama has resigned his 20-year membership at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago following a rash of inflammatory remarks made by his longtime pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
