First Aretha Franklin and now Tavis Smiley. What’s up with egos in Black America this week? Still hot on the campaign trail toward the White House. Democratic candidate Barack Obama recently turned down an opportunity to appear at Tavis Smiley’s “State of the Black Union 2008″ Conference in New Orleans on February 23th. In a nearly two minute video posted on You Tube, a toothless crack addict identified as “Larry Sinclair” claims he performed oral sex on, and used drugs with, Presidential hopeful Barack Obama on two occasions in 1999.

BET founder Bob Johnson has blasted Democratic presidential candidate hopeful Barack Obama for his “distortion” of recent comments made by New York State Senator Hillary Clinton. Bob told the Associated Press that said he was insulted by the way Barack’s campaign twisted Clinton’s words concerning the Civil Rights movement. “That kind of campaign behavior would not be reasonable with me for a guy who says ‘I want to be a reasonable, likable, Sidney Poitier,’” Bob said.
