We hear out-of-work sibs Brandy and Ray-J Norwood — who is recovering from wisdom tooth extraction — are two of the celebrities tapped to go toe-to-toe on the upcoming ninth season of Dancing With The Stars, premiering September 21 on ABC.

It’s a good thing Brandy is dusting off her freestyle skills, because it looks like the 30-year-old singer’s career in R&B is on its last leg.

Celebrity informants tell Black Voices’ BV Buzz Blog that the Grammy Award-winning singer was recently dropped from the roster at Epic Records after her long-awaited comeback album, Human, failed to make an impressive impact on the charts.

“Her friend Brandon Creed that works as an A&R representative at Epic Records has been making calls to see if other labels would be interested in signing her…”

Human, released last December, has only sold 196,509 units to date according to SoundScan.

Brandy has agreed to pay $300,000 in compensation to the two children of the woman killed in her 2006 car crash.

Awatef Aboudihaj died after her car collided with Brandy’s Range Rover on the Los Angeles Freeway three years ago. The Grammy Award-winning singer avoided criminal charges, but was sued by Aboudihaj’s widower Marouane Hdidou and their two children.

In February, Hdidou turned down a $1.2 million to settle his suit with Brandy, despite his attorney’s pleas to take the money.

R&B singer-actress Brandy will return to network TV this fall after landing a role on the ABC pilot This Little Piggy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will follow two adult siblings (Jeff Davis, Rebecca Cheskoff) who move in with their oldest brother (Kevin Rahm).

The former star of UPN’s Moesha will play Davis’ materialistic wife.
