R&B crooner Chris Brown will make his Saturday Night Live debut on Feb. 12. The “Deuces” singer has signed on to perform as a musical guest on NBC’s longrunning sketch comedy show, which will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand.
Brown’s already announced that his new album will be released on March 22. F.A.M.E. includes his hit “Yeah 3x” and features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Benny Benassi, Wiz Khalifa, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Asher Roth. The disc will be released in both a standard edition and a deluxe double-disc edition.
“Deuces” has been aces for bad boy R&B artist Chris Brown — He’s up for three prizes at next month’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards — but the crooner may have a legal melee on his hands if a judge doesn’t modify a restraining order that prevents him from coming within 100 yards of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. As we’ll all recall, Brown assaulted the “Umbrella” star in a rental car the night before the 2009 Grammys, resulting in a host of legal troubles for the once clean-cut star — including said protective order.
Chris Brown — who was only just beginning to creep back into the good graces of the supporters he lost with his savage Feb. 2009 attack on Rihanna — is back in Hot Water after his issued a profanity-laced rant off at former B2K boy bander Raz B; a rant that some are calling homophobic.
All of you R&B-lovin’ Breezy Stans out there will be pleased to learn that your honey-coated Messiah has completed his yearlong, court-ordered domestic violence education courses.
Kudos and Cookies aren’t expected, but are appreciated.
Chris Brown is working his way to forgiveness — at least from the California legal system. On Thursday, a Los Angeles judge commended the R&B singer during a probation progress report hearing.
Brown is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty last year to assaulting Rihanna in a rented sports car after a pre-Grammy Awards party.
The singer, 21, arrived early to the courthouse with his attorney Mark Geragos to report on his progress to the judge. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said that he has shown impressive grades so far. Schnegg said the R&B singer has completed roughly 73 of 180 days of community service and is almost finished with his required domestic violence counseling.
Here’s the high-energy, highly-choreographed video for “Yeah 3X” — the next single from Ike Turner Jr.’s Chris Brown’s upcoming album F.A.M.E.
“Thank you GOD for allowing me to inspire the world with the abilities you have given!!!” Chris told his 980,000 Twitter followers after the premiere of what some are calling his “unofficial comeback video.” “And thanks for my wonderful fans. Thanks for allowing me to share this with you. It’s my ART. If your world is gloomy, there are only two things to do… DREAM and DANCE!!”
In related news, Nelly — who collaborated with “Beat Her Down” on his own LP Nelly 5.0 — believes the 21-year-old crooner should no longer have to apologize for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna almost two years ago because “he’s learned his lesson now.”
“What people seem to forget is that this was a kid, a kid that made a mistake that, sadly, grown men make every day,” Nelly told reporters during the MOBO Awards in London Thursday. “If we’re going to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, it should be a kid. Chris has been through a lot, he’s learned his lesson now.”
Looks like the apple doesn’t fall far from the psycho. “Deuces” is aces for Chris Brown. The 21-year-old’s latest song hit the top spot of Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart last week, but Breezy’s mom — Joyce Hawkins — may have set her son’s journey down the comeback trail back a few hundred paces with an outrageous Tuesday afternoon Tweet that seems to compare her embattled spawn to the legendary King of Pop.
Over the weekend, model Jasmine Sanders strutted her stuff during Miami Swimwear Fashion Week n barely-there bikinis, but the light-eyed beauty suddenly became bashful when asked about her rumored romance with embattled R&B artist Chris Brown.
Chris Brown’s teary tribute to the late King of Pop has proven to be the proverbial “Get Out of Jail Free” Card for the scandal-bitten crooner, whose career was wrecked in the wake of a domestic violence scandal. Chris’ tears as he croaked through the emotional last leg of his sing-dance hat tip to an icon were reportedly so convincing that now even his victim is ready to forgive him.
Chris Brown is in the studio with R&B songbird Keyshia Cole. The 21-year-old broke the news about their clandestine collaboration in a Twitter update Thursday.
Brown Tweeted: “In the studio wit Keyshia Cole . . . she says hello!!!!”
The collaboration is the most recent move by Brown, who has struggled to recover his career since pleading guilty to assault charges against his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Last week, Brown is also in chats to put something on wax with hip-hop “It Guy of the Hour” — Drake.
