Hot on the heels of rampant reports that her flopped Basic Instinct disc got former R&B darling Ciara booted from the Jive Records roster, the “Goodies” singer has “One-Two-Stepped” forward with a rebuttal to those reports via a statement to fans uploaded to her Facebook page late Monday.

Ciara Says “Gimme Dat” On “Ellen”
Fleet-footed R&B star Ciara treated the audience of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to a lively performance of her single “Gimme Dat.” After a couple setbacks, the “Oh” hitmaker has finally released her long-delayed fourth studio album Basic Instinct, an album Ci-Ci has described as a return to her urban roots as Atlanta’s Princess of Crunk. The disc is alos an obvious response to last year’s Fantasy Ride, which failed to make an impression on the charts. Though the lack of promotion may have Basic Instinct headed for a similar fate.
This time around, Ciara brought back the writing/producing duo Terius “The-Dream” Nash and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, who worked with her Fantasy Ride to put together the majority of the album. Together they have created what could very well be the star’s best and most consistent release yet.

The-Dream Deletes Twitter Over Feud With Ciara Fans
A backlash over some candid remarks about friend and colleague Ciara has prompted The-Dream to delete his account on Twitter. In a recent interview with Parlour Magazine, the Grammy-winning MC said that Ciara is running out of chances for major success and one more flopped could be the final nail in the coffin of a career that’s seen better days.
Her fourth album Basic Instinct is set for release on Aug. 24.
