Deborah Cox is Broadway-bound! The powerhouse vocalist behind radio hits like “Sentimental” and “Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here” has been cast to portray stage icon and civil rights activist Josephine Baker in a Broadway musical based on Baker’s life.

The show is expected to go live on The Great White Way sometime next year.

In 1990, actress Lynn Whitfield won critical acclaim for starring as the troubled dancer/singer/actress in the HBO telefilm The Josephine Baker Story.
