DMX has been moved to the Arizona Department of Corrections Flamenco Mental Health Unit at Alhambra, prison officials told Billboard Wednesday.

The 40-year-old hip-hop star (real name Earl Simmons) was sentenced to a year in jail Dec. 16 after he pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his probation by using cocaine and getting kicked out of court-ordered rehab program. This is the 13th time Simmons has been incarcerated in connection with assault, weapons, drugs, or animal-cruelty arrests. At Simmons’ sentencing this month, Judge Christine Mulleneaux told the star that she believes he has “an undiagnosed mental condition,” possibly bi-polar disorder.

The performer was admitted to the mental health unit Dec. 20, but there is no word on when he is expected to be discharged.

DMX has had his probation revoked and is heading to prison for one year, according to a ruling issued against the cocaine-addicted rap star, real name Earl Simmons, in Maricopa County Superior Court on Thursday. He was arrested last month for violating probation after he was kicked out of a drug treatment program for failing a drug test.

Former rap star DMX was arrested in Phoenix — for the millionth time — on Friday for probation violations stemming from the hip-hopster’s ongoing battle against drugs.

The once-celebrated lyricist was arrested by Maricopa County probation officers and is being held without bond in the county jail. Simmons, 39, is facing charges on suspicion of seven probation violations, including illegal possession of the drug Oxycontin, failing to submit to drug testing and counseling programs, and driving with a suspended licence, according to court documents.

“Mr. Simmons has several felony convictions, and has been given multiple opportunities to succeed on probation,” court papers said. “He has been directed to treatment, as well as chose his own treatment program, and continues to use illegal drugs following these opportunities.”

The Yonkers-raised rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has a storied history with the criminal justice history — and cocaine. (Just check out his dashboard of mugshots…) X was arrested twice for violating probation for 2009 felony convictions for cruelty to animals, theft, and two drug counts. He most recently served time in a Los Angeles County jail on a 2002 reckless driving charge.

Freedom has proved shortlived for beloved hip-hopster DMX (real name Earl Simmons). On Monday, the “Get At Me Dog” star turned himself in at a Los Angeles courthouse to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence stemming from a probation violation on a 2002 reckless driving conviction.

DMX, 39, has been repeatedly arrested and jailed over the past few years. Most recently, he was released after serving a six-month sentence in an Arizona jail for violating probation with a failed drug test.

Just last week, X’s estraned wife, Tashera, announced that she is divorcing her childhood sweetheart after four children and more than a decade of marriage.

Despite being sentenced to three months behind bars, the star is expected to be released in just a few weeks due to overcrowding in the California prison system, which prompts officials to release non-violent offenders early.

It’s the end of the road for trouble-prone Ruff Ryder lyricist DMX and his wife of more than a decade Tashera Simmons. Simmons, who has four children with the drug-addicted hip-hopster, is calling time on the marriage after X’s most recent run-in with the law.

The couple met when they were just 11 and became an item at 18. They wed in 1999.

It appears any hope of reconciliation is kaput. Between a roll in the hay with Superhead Steffans and fathering a child with a Baltimore woman he later accused of “rape,” Tashera’s at her wits end with her childhood sweetheart.

Simmons is shopping around a reality show called Tashera Simmons…Life After X and working with Aiya S. King on a tell-all memoir called Tashera Simmons…Strength of A Woman.

The troubled star filed suit against Rich Kid Entertainment in Manhattan Superior Court on Monday charging that the entertainment company pocketed 100% of the funds from a contract signed a decade ago that was only supposed to provide X a 10% cut.

The suit claims DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, didn’t even become aware of the “fraudulent acts” until last year.

“DMX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has had No. 1 singles and albums on the Billboard charts, which in turn have generated a great amount of revenue for Defendants, but has left [DMX] with nothing,” the suit reads. “From 2000 through 2008, Simmons was in and out of jail and changed representatives numerous times.”

The former Ruff Ryders honcho is currently in the Maricopa County Jail in Arizona after a bust for drugs, theft, and animal cruelty in February.

Looks like it’s going to be another long summer behind bars for DMX. The drug-addicted lyricist was sentenced to six months in an Arizona jail on Tuesday after admitting to five separate probation violations — including using illegal drugs.

During the hearing, a rep from the Pasadena Recovery Center gave the judge a letter from Dr. Drew Pinsky — addiction specialist and star of VH1 hits like Celebrity Rehab and Sober House — asking permission to treat X ‘s cocaine addiction at his facility… instead of sending the star to jail.

The judge has not yet ruled.

A lawyer for DMX has appealed to TV addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky to enroll the troubled rap star in the next season of the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab.

“DMX has been battling addiction for some time, and he’s in need of treatment,” says Gary Jenkins, attorney for the rapper who was busted in Arizona Tuesday for allegedly violating the terms of his probation by using cocaine.

It was the fifth arrest for the lyricist in the past year.

“We’re hoping that maybe Dr. Drew might be able to help him,” Jenkins says. “He’s a talented man. We’re praying for him.”

The memoir, titled Strength of Woman, “will be talking about her experience with her family and trying to hold them together through the DMX journey,” a rep for Tashera told AllHipHop.com. “Her story is a stellar, heart wrecking, powerful, firsthand account of survival and family strength in a chaotic life and the fame that came with that life.”

Tashera has been married to the rapper since 1999 — through several cheating scandals and paternity suits. Perhaps most notably, in January of 2008, DMX was ordered to pay $1.5 million dollars to a Baltimore woman with whom he fathered a daughter, after he accused her of raping him in an interview with Sister2Sister Magazine in 2004.

The rapper — real name Earl Simmons — reportedly told a probation officer that he has been using cocaine and hasn’t been complying with the terms of his treatment plan.

X, why do you keep subjecting yourself to this tomfoolery?

This is just one in a series of legal run-ins for the born-again Christian; he spent 90 days in jail on drug, theft, and animal abuse charges in 2009 and was serving probation for throwing a food tray at a detention officer inside a Phoenix jail last year.

“We would hope that he is finally sent to prison,” Arpaio said. “We’ve arrested him five times already. How many times do you have to violate the law?”

DMX is currently facing five counts of violating probation.
