Neo-soul superstar Erykah Badu has been slapped with six months probation and a fine of $500 for walking naked in downtown Dallas during a music video shoot for her song “Window Seat” last March.

The video, filmed in the area in which President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, culminates with Badu being fatally shot in the head. Dallas Police said a formal complaint was filed by at least one parent whose child saw Badu prancing around in her birthday suit.

Has a feud between neo-soul superstars Maxwell, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu put the kibosh on the remainder of the crooner’s North American tour?

Word on the Curb has it that Maxwell has scrapped the rest of his concerts over a feud with tour mates Jill and Erykah, who have both consistently run overtime in their opening sets for the “Pretty Wings” star. Celebrity snitches tell FreddyO.com that all of Maxwell’s concerts after the NYC stop on June 26 have been postponed or cancelled.

So she’s not naked on the cover, but the First Lady of Neo-Soul — songbird Erykah Badu — gets candid in an almost-as-revealing interview on the pages of the June/July issue of VIBE.

Here’s what the mom of four had to say about her banned “Window Seat” video:

“I look at some other videos. I’m not naming names, because I don’t want that to be mentioned. There is the thing with sexuality. I’m naked for 13 seconds, and these people are naked the whole time and gyrating and saying come “lick on my lollipop,” and “suck on my cinnamon roll,” and, you know, suggesting sex. People are uncomfortable with sexuality that’s not for male consumption. Could be ‘cause I did it in public too. Do you think people would have been complaining if I had on high-heel shoes?”

Erykah Badu’s going nude again — this time its for her appearance on the June/July double issue of VIBE Magazine, which the neo-soul priestess shares with hip-hop sensation Nicki Minaj.

Jay Electronica’s leading lady is also featured on the cover of this week’s edition of Jet Magazine, where the soul star chats about her “Out My Mind” multi-city tour.

Badu, a Dallas native, performed a walking striptease in front of tourists, pedestrians, and one very “grossed out” nine-year-old during the video shoot for Badu’s hit single “Window Seat.” The performance ended with a nude Badu acting out receiving a fatal gunshot to the head at the spot where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Nov. 1963.

Police in Dallas decided to slap Erykah with a ticket for disorderly conduct because Ida Espinosa — of nearby Vernon, Texas — filed a criminal complaint against the singing star after her nine-year-old daughter witnessed the video strip down and was reportedly “grossed out” by the incident.

The video was shot in and around Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas — where President John F. Kennedy was famously assassinated in 1963. Dallas native Badu is featured walking down Elm Street while stripping her clothes off one piece at a time – until she’s fully nude.

The new video has already been ripped from YouTube.com over a copyright issue and watchdog groups are already upset about the idea of Badu baring all in a pop video. And the Web isn’t the only entity crying out over the footage: A Dallas city spokesman says the mother of three did not have permission to shoot the stunt in public, The Dallas Morning News reported on Monday

“The production company that produced this video never contacted the City to seek the proper permits. This is known as “guerilla filming” where production companies circumvent the proper permitting procedures and usually shoot these scenes in one take knowing that if they are discovered they would face arrest and/or penalties….”

The video is intended to launch a discussion of “groupthink.”

“I called it ‘Part II: The Return of the Ankh’ because this album is the sister of the left side of my brain — it is the right side,” Badu, 38, explained during a listening session this week at New York City’s Chung King Studios.

“‘Part I was the left side of my thoughts — it was more socially political and my thought process was more analytical,” she said. “This time there wasn’t anything to be concerned with — the album is more emotional and flowy and talks about feelings. It reminds of the days of ‘Baduizm’ — this is just about beats and rhymes in a cipher.”
