It seems old woman-slapping habits die hard for legendary hip-hopster Funkmaster Flex. The voice of New York City’s Hot 97 FM and self-described Car Show King — was arrested Friday for allegedly sending his wife a threatening text message and later pushing her down in their upscale Westchester County home.

Flex and his wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor, wed in 2000 and have two children together. Monica tells cops that the couple quarreled and she grabbed her cell phone to call police, but her husband slapped the phone out of her hands and stomped it. He fled the house before police arrived, but officers later found him “a short distance away in his vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro,” cops said. He’s been charged with three counts of criminal mischief and harassment and released on $500 bail.

At a gig in New Jersey shortly after his release, the New York native admitted getting into a tussle with his wife.

“Yes, we had words,” he said said. “Yes, there was an argument. Yes, there was a phone broken. Yes, there were police called. I love my fans, and I encourage all of them to work things out in their own marriages.”

In 2003, Flex — whose real name is Aston Taylor Jr. — was arrested in Manhattan on charges he choked and punched Stephanie Saunders, a DJ known as Steph Lova on rival station Power 105. As part of a plea deal, he was ordered to serve 35 hours of community service. He was also issued an order of protection to stay away from Saunders, who used to work with him at Hot 97.

Christina Milian has behaved like “Grace Under Fire” on the heels of reports this week romantically-linking her portly hubby, R&B singer/producer The-Dream, to his assistant, lusty Latina Melissa Santiago. The musician, whose real name is Terius Nash, released a statement Monday saying he and Milian split in late 2009, shortly after their September wedding. The announcement came after he was spotted getting cozy with Santiago in the Caribbean over the weekend.

Humiliated, Christina’s held her composure in the face of public embarrassment, but the “Dip It Low” hitmaker has taken all the lip she can stand from Hot 97 personality and notorious loudmouth, Funkmaster Flex.The Cuban crooner blew her top Tuesday after Flex hit his Twitter to declare Milian’s career was over following her separation from Nash.

“Christina Milian is Finished out here….Dream just wrapped you up….” he wrote.

The comment prompted Christina to reply with:

“@funkmasterflex when will u just leave me alone and get a life? I swear all uve ever done is pick on me. What’s ur problem dude? Go away.”

Surprisingly, the always chatty Flex, took the high road and offered his apologies to Christina.

“@CMilianOfficial.i was jokin. i will give you a break. wasnt personal.ps i dont agree with what the dream did. love to your little one.”

“@CMilianOfficial i wont say anything else.. all good.. funkflex.”

With the Hip-Hop World still spinning from the Monday morning slaying of Dipset affiliate Stack Bundles in Queens, Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex has taken the opportunity to speak out against the Stop Snitchin’ Movement.

Funkmaster Flex and the Ford Motor Company will unveil a limited edition line of their Ford Expedition customized by the infamous deejay/personality this fall.

Dubbed the ‘Ford Expedition Funkmaster Flex Edition,’ the exclusive SUV’s will include a 3d Carbon body kit with custom front/rear fascia and side skirts, stitched logo headrests with Flex’s logo and a dash plaque signed by Flex, among other special modifications.

Flex and Ford joined forces in 2005 to customize vehicles which cater to car enthusiasts. To date, Flex has customized over fifteen vehicles for Ford.

“Once Ford and I finished the concept Expedition, we knew we had something serious! It was poppin’!” Flex explained via a statement. “We then started showing it at auto shows, to dealers and to my fans and realized we hit on some themes that we could turn into a limited-edition production ride.”

NYC DJ Funkmaster Flex has been tapped to host the new reality television series called Castrol Syntec Car Wars, debuting on Sunday night on ESPN.

“We’ve had a great experience with Flex and are looking forward to continuing our relationship with him and supporting our new show ‘Castrol Syntec Car Wars,’” Melanie Losey, Castrol Syntec brand manager said. “Flex’s enthusiasm and love for cars is inspiring and we’re excited to have our highest performing motor oil brand, Castrol Syntec, alongside him.”

The reality series will showcase four car show enthusiasts in a six week race to customize their vehicles.

Castrol Syntec Car Wars will air on ESPN2 for seven consecutive weeks, and after every week, the four contestants will show off their car customization skills and unique rides to win the Castrol Syntec “Best in Show” award and a grand prize of $10,000.

The Castrol Syntec Car Wars finale will be filed in Atlantic City, N.J. at Flex’s Celebrity Car and Bike Show. All seven episodes will also be available online at www.castrol.com/carwars.
