Halle Berry could be heading to the small screen! She is attached to star as a college professor in the upcoming TV drama Higher Learning, which is presently being shopped to various cable networks, like HBO and Showtime.

To say Hughes isn’t thrilled with the images from those films would be an understatement.

Halle Berry’s custody saga is turning into something ripped from the pages of an Alex Haley novel. For those not in-the-know, the screen stunner is in the early stages of what promises to be a bitter custody battle with her former flame, Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.

On one side of the fence, we have Team Berry, who are throwing barbs that claim Aubry is a bitter racist, who regularly referred to the eternally-single star with the “N-word.” Then we have Gabriel’s proponents, who say Halle is a jealous psycho, who released Mama Bear Hell on her ex after learning that he had been dating socialite Kim Kardashian.

Halle, refused to comment on the custody battle, in an interview with the March 2011 issue of Ebony Magazine, but went into depth when explaining why she believes that the former couple’s daughter Nahla — who turns three next month — is a Black, even though she’s 3/4 White.

“I feel like she’s Black. I’m Black and I’m her mother and I believe in the one-drop theory,” says Berry, who was born to a White mother and a Black father. “What I think is that that’s something she’s going to have to decide. I’m not going to put a label on it. I had to decide for myself and that’s what she’s going to have to decide – how she identifies herself in the world,” she continued.

“And I think, largely, that will be based on how the world identifies her. That’s how I identified myself. But I feel like she’s Black.”

Oy! Those comments aren’t likely to go over well with Gabriel. TMZ cites sources who say that the handsome Canadian turns into the runway’s answer to David Duke whenever anyone calls his daughter “Black.”

“…Whenever Gabriel would read a story about Nahla that referred to her as ‘Black,’ he would go off, insisting his baby was White. We’re told Gabriel would tell Halle and others they should demand a ‘retraction’ when such references were made regarding his daughter.”

Seriously? Arguing over the race of a mixed-raced child? That’s what we’re doing now?

Gabriel and Halle are expected in court over the custody issue later this month. In the meantime, might we suggest that the judge do what’s best for Nahla and promptly hand her over to be raised by wolves? She’d undoubtedly be better off!

Berry – who is currently dating French actor Olivier Martinez – speaks about interracial relationships.

“Well, first thing I want to say is that I’m very connected to my community and I want black people to know that I haven’t abandoned them because I’ve had a child with a man outside of my race and I’m dating someone now outside of my race who is Spanish and French.”

She adds: “I have never been more clear about who I am as a Black woman. The people I have dated sort of hold up a mirror to me and help me realise more of who I really am.”

The love affair between Gabriel Aubry and Halle Berry is no more.

The Canadian model has confirmed that he and the Oscar-winning screen stunner have called time on their four and a half year romance after reports about the split hit the blogosphere on Friday.

In a statement released to Access Hollywood through his Wilihemina Modeling Agency, Gabriel insists the breakup is amicable, although he is believed to have ended the relationship with the Monster’s Ball actress because they spent so much time apart.

Since the couple split a few months ago, Gabriel, 34, and Oscar winning actress Halle have been working to resolve their finances and make arrangements for their two-year-old daughter, Nahla.

“We have been blessed with the most amazing daughter in the world, and her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us. Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time….”
