As if this whole business with the folding baby bump isn’t weird enough, pregnant star Beyonce has been caught up in yet another bizarre baby-related scandal – and this one involves her dad, Mathew Knowles.

The 60-year-old fathered a son during an 18-month extramarital affair with former Scrubs star Alexsandra Wright, 40, but apparently he begged the boy’s mother to hand the child over to his superstar daughter and son-in-law, so they could raise him as their own.

Alexsandra refused to give up her child and is raising the baby, now 20-months-old, with her new boyfriend. She tells Star Magazine:

“My first thought when he asked me if I would give up our child to Beyonce and Jay-Z was, ‘Are you out of your mind?’ Nothing in the world, no amount of money would make me give up my child, you can’t buy my child from me! Maybe Mathew thought money could buy anything.”

Alexsandra insists that Beyonce knew nothing of her father’s scheme to have her raise her own half-brother.

“I don’t believe that Beyonce or anybody else has a clue about what was flying out of Mathew’s mouth. I don’t think it was anybody but Mathew.”

The “If I Were a Boy” hitmaker is presently estranged from her dad, also her former manager, amid allegations that he stole millions from her.

Knowles and Wright ended their affair before the baby was born, and Alexsandra claims Mathew then tried to offer her money to leave his name off the birth certificate. Wright refused, and after a paternity battle which proved the baby was his, Tina Knowles (Beyonce’s mother) filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage.

Mathew Knowles has never met his only son.

And when they arrive next September, BK native and Nets part-owner Jay-Z will open the team’s new arena with a live performance.

The hip-hop mogul/expectant dad chatted with reporters at a news conference across the street from The Barclays Center with developer Bruce Ratner and Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz. They team toyed with some other team names, including the Brooklyn Kings or the Brooklyn Bridges, but ultimately decided to keep the Nets moniker when the team moves to New York for the 2012-13 season.

“I absolutely am humbled, and I have so much pride as a kid to come from the Marcy Projects to stand here,” Hov, who grew up only minutes away in the Marcy Public Housing Projects, said at today’s presser. “I asked for two things out of my partners in ownership – that we name the New Jersey Nets the Brooklyn Nets, and … that I open it with a concert.”

He added: “We’re going to open this arena right here with a concert. Maybe one, maybe two, maybe three.”

There’s no better time to drop a bomb than on a red carpet…and Beyonce Knowles has done just that!

The Grammy-winning singer — who’ll turn 30 on Sept. 4 — apparently announced that she’s pregnant by walking the red carpet at Sunday’s Video Music Awards in Los Angeles!

“OMG Beyonce just made a huge announcement on the #vma carpet! #baby!!!!!” the network Tweeted a short time ago.

“I’m happy to say it’s true,” B’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

This will be the first child for Beyonce and her hubby, hip hop star Jay-Z.

Kanye West and Jay-Z’s critically-hailed joint LP, Watch the Throne, has smashed iTunes sales records after almost 290,000 downloads of the collaborative disc were snapped up by fans last week.

The duo have shattered the record previously set by Coldplay when their 2008 album Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends sold 282,000 in its first week. Yeezy and Hov are expected to debut at the top of the US Billboard 200 charts on Wednesday with total sales of close to 500,000. The release went on sale exclusively through iTunes bet 8-11.

Meanwhile, Kanye West and Jay-Z may be super-rich rap dudes with solid gold album covers and pimped-out rides – but they’re also not afraid to give back. The $300,000 Rolls Royce Maybach customized to spit flames in their new music video “Otis” will be going up for auction. All proceeds from the sale of the whip will benefit East African drought disaster, which has affected over 12.4 million people.

Beyonce debuted her latest single –”1+1″ — from her new album, “4″, on the American Idol season finale Wednesday.

Jay-Z recorded footage of his wife showing off her signature pipes during rehearsal and shows no modesty as he plays the role of the beaming husband.

“Sometimes you need perspective. You’ve been right in front of greatness so often that you need to step back and see it again for the first time,” Jay-Z in a blog post under the byline Andy WarHOV. “This is the dressing room rehearsal for American Idol. NO MICROPHONE. No effects.”

With a piano as the only instrument accompanying her voice, the fierce songstress sings: “I don’t know much about algebra. But I know 1 plus 1 equals 2.”

She continues: “Hey! I don’t know much about guns but I … I’ve been shot by you. Hey! And I don’t know when I’m gonna die, but I hope that I’m gonna die by you. Hey! And I don’t know much about fighting, but I, I know I will fight for you. Hey! Just when I ball up my fist, I realize that I’m laying right next to you.”

Beyonce’s fourth solo disc will be released on June 28.

Beyonce has issued a stern warning to her rap mogul hubby, Jay-Z: “If want you to put a bun in this oven, you’ll have to put a ring on it…again!”

The Urban supercouple are set to renew their wedding vows on their fourth wedding anniversary next year, snitches dish to Britain’s Now Magazine. Jayonce – who married on April 4, 2008 – is reportedly eager to prove their love for one another one last time before embarking on their long-delayed plans to start a family.

“In Paris, Beyonce told jay she wanted to have another wedding ceremony before seriously considering babies. Jay jumped at the chance to prove again he’s committed forever,” a tipster close to The Knowles-Carters yapped to Britain’s Now! Magazine “Bey saw a couture wedding dress she wants while they were there, but the cute thing is they’re both superstitious about the number four – which is why they married on the fourth day of the fourth month. They’ll have four years of marriage behind them next year and they want to make it a big one. They’ve set aside over $1 million for it. Expect bling like you’ve never seen before.”

Jay-Z bought his superstar wife, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, approximately $350,000 worth of designer handbags for Christmas in a last minute shopping spree on Madison Avenue, celebrity spies report.

The rapping millionaire purchased an assortment of gifts for his wife during a Christmas Eve rip to The Hermes Boutique on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, The New York Post reports.

Among the items under B’s tree on Christmas morning: Several Birkin handbags, which can retail for as much as $150,000 each, and several other items, which also included purses.

“Jay was in a private room of Hermes doing last-minute shopping. He had a guard standing watch outside,” squeals a spywitness.

The ‘Empire State Of Mind’ hitmaker spent so long in the store he had to cancel a lunch reservation and instead telephoned the eatery to arrange to have his food delivered to the exclusive Downtown store instead!

Of course, Beyonce isn’t the only spoiled one in this relationship. The “Single Ladies” star recently spent $2 million on a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sportscar for her husband’s 41st birthday.
