Hip-hop star Lil Mama has issued a statement apologizing for her tomfoolish behavior at last night’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
The New York native and America’s Next Dance Crew judge raised eyebrows after she went full retard (no offense), storming on-stage and elbowing her way into the mix as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed “Empire State of Mind.”
Native New Yorkers Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed “Empire State of Mind” at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in the Big Apple on September 13. Too bad the stage was later stormed by “Lip Gloss” rapper Lil Mama!
Jay-Z refused to put down his mic and tapped the rapper on her leg to usher her off the stage, before telling her, “You T-Paining right now!”
Jay-Z is on course to score his 11th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 next week, as The Blueprint 3 is expected to move between 350,000 and 500,000, according to projections from Billboard.
“Death of Autotune” continues to rub subpar rappers the wrong way. Let’s meet today’s victim, T-Pain, who says that Jay-Z is 59-year-old hasbeen and if anyone should be dead, it should be him.
Jay-Z has worked hard to keep the intimate details of his marriage to R&B star Beyonce private, but Oprah has managed to convince the hip-hop mogul to open up a little –at least about date night!
“I’m gonna get killed for this, but I’ll tell you anyway,” Hov reveals in a new interview for the October issue of Oprah Magazine. “There’s a great pizza spot we go to every Sunday. It’s our tradition. It’s a small place in Brooklyn, you can bring your own wine, and there are candles there. It’s a nice date.”
Earlier this summer, Oprah joined Jay-Z as he returned to his childhood home in Brooklyn’s Marcy Housing Projects. Check out some highlights of their chat in the new October issue of O Magazine, on newsstands Sept. 15.
Jay-Z On His Days As A Teenage Drug Dealer:
Jay-Z: “It was natural…”
Winfrey: “Because drug dealers were your role models. There wasn’t a teacher or lawyer or nurse of doctor or and accountant in the neighborhood?”
Jay-Z: “Well, we were living in Marcy by then, so no. And if anyone did become something like that, they moved out. They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That’s why I’ve always said that if I become successful, I’d come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done.”
Jay-Z On The N-Word:
Winfrey: “Do you believe that using the N word is necessary?”
Jay-Z: “Nothing is necessary. It’s just become part of the way we communicate. My generation hasn’t had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren’t so close to the pain. So in our way, we disarmed the word. We took the fire pin out of the grenade.”
Jay-Z On Beyonce:
Winfrey: “Can I ask how in the world you kept your wedding a secret?”
Jay-Z: “Late planning!”
Winfrey: “How many people knew?”
Jay-Z: “Very few. The sad part is that we offended some. But people who love you understand. Because at the end of the day, it’s your day.”
Rush Limbaugh has responded to his mention in Jay-Z’s Drake-assisted single “Off That.”
The song, which leaked earlier this weekwill appear on Jay’z The Blueprint 3 album. It features the verses: “This ain’t black vs. white, my nigga, we off that / Please tell Bill O’Reilly to fall back / Tell Rush Limbaugh to get off my balls / it’s 2009, not 1864.”
