Jonetta Patton, mother and manager of R&B star Usher, is being investigated by police in DeKalb County, Georgia after allegedly failing to pay a limo driver for his services at the 2008 BET Awards in Los Angeles last June.

Usher is seriously considering rehiring his former momager Jonetta Patton after his fifth studio album “Here I Stand” stalled on the Billboard charts under new manager Benny Medina.

“People have been telling Usher to listen to his mother,” a source tells the New York Daily News. “Nobody knows how to sell him better than she does. Usher can be stubborn. But he may be ready.”

Usher fired his mother as the life-long head of his management team on Mother’s Day 2007 after Patton repeatedly clashed with the singer’s now-wife Tameka Foster.
