Kanye West will release the longest music video in history with the release of a 40-minute epic for his new “Runaway” single — and the outspoken lyricist is giving us our first peek at the work in progress.
The music video — based on the new song he debuted at MTV’s Video Music Awards earlier this month — will last just seconds longer than the current title-holder, Michael Jackson’s “Ghosts,” which timed in at 39 minutes and 31 seconds when it was released in 1997. West describes the short film as a noir-style movie that will be an “epic piece of art”
Here’s a sneak preview at the eagerly-awaited short film, premiering soon!
Kanye West will perform as the featured musical guest on Saturday Night Live Oct. 2nd — with Bryan Cranston hosting.
The performance comes just as Yeezy prepares to release his hotly-anticipated fifth album, which is slated to featured the singles “Power” and “Runaway.”
In a new interview with New York Magazine, controversial rap star Kanye West lets us in on the plot of his eagerly-awaited “Runaway” short film, which features supermodel Selita Ebanks and is currently under direction in Praque.
The short film is described as a 40-minute noir piece based on Kanye’s new album, debuting in November.
“It’s the story of a phoenix fallen to Earth, and I make her my girlfriend, and people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world…I’ve been feeling the idea of the phoenix. It’s been in my heart for a while. It’s maybe parallel to my career. I threw a Molotov cocktail on my career last year, in a way, and I had to come back as a better person.”
Yeezy’s dating a “Doll.” A Pussycat Doll, to be exact. Rumours are abuzz that rapper Kanye West and former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton are in the early stages of a new romance.
In case your holiday weekend of BBQ and The Electric Slide has kept you out of the loop musically, last Friday saw the premiere of Kanye West’s first Good Friday. Every Feel Good Friday between now and the November release of his eagerly-anticipated new album — Good Ass Job — Yeezy will be hitting his Twitter page to unleash a new potential hit for the public’s consumption.
First up? A throwback diddy entitled “Devil in a New Dress.”
When The Snitch Circut first lit up with whispers that Justin Bieber would be collaborating with hip-hop heavyweights Kanye West and Raekwon The Chief on a new track, we weren’t sure what to think. Rap classics like “Jesus Walks” and “C.R.E.A.M” cater to a slightly more street-seasoned listening audience than the crazed Tweeners who have made Biebs the most targeted man in pop. Nonetheless, here it is… a remix of Bieber’s hit “Runaway Love,” featuring hip-hopsters Yeezy and Raekwon.
Although his fifth album isn’t due to drop until Nov. 16, outspoken hip-hopster Kanye West is working tirelessly to provide his fans with weekly tunes throughout the fall.
West is set to give his fans a special festive treat — he’s releasing one song every week until Christmas.
On Monday, the rapper announced plans to offer up a new track every Friday though his Kanye University website.
In a post on his Twitter.com page this week, Yeezy wrote: “I know y’all need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song, it may be a new Jay (Z) song etc. I’m calling it good Fridays. Y’all know every Friday y’all gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now. It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped See Me Now… It wasn’t about me, it was about the summer, the BBQs etc.”
Its been a while since we’ve been treated to a good jam session at the hands of hip-hop’s favorite stage-crashing “Gay Fish.” But the wait is over for the devoted music fan itching for a Kanye Fix.
Yeezy hooked up with prolific mixmaster Perajok for the release of a new mixtape, aptly-titled G.O.O.D. Ass Mixtape. The mixtape includes tracks and guest appearances from Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music recording artists — including John Legend, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Fonzworth Bentley, Consequence, and a host of others.
It’s been a long year for Kanye West, but the embattled and always opinionated rapper is forging ahead with his triumphant comeback to the spotlight.
On his latest single, “See Me Now,” the hip-hop hitmaker teams up with Beyonce and crooner Charlie Wilson for the follow up to his charttoping single “Power” — both featured on Yeezy’s upcoming album, Good Ass Job, set for release in November.
The video promo for “Power” — the first single from Kanye West’s eagerly- anticipated new album, titled Good Ass Job — was expected to be epic. In fact, this week, Yeezy Tweeted a message to fans hinting that the video wasn’t going to be a video at all, but instead a “painting.”
He wasn’t joking.
