Kelis has unveiled a Grace Jones-inspired cover for her forthcoming album, Flesh Tone.
After raping Nas’ wallet for child support and alimony in a Los Angeles courtroom this week, I’m surprised Kelis is still working! Sitting home and collecting checks is usually more a golddigger’s style, but apparently this “Milkshakin’” maven does at least have some standards left. Flanked by the single “Acapella,” thw electronica-influenced album from the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will be released in the US and Canada on July 6.
The LP will be Kelis’ first for the will.i.am Music Group imprint — a division of Interscope Records.

Kelis performed her comeback dance anthem “Acapella” — produced by Frenchman David Guetta — on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday. Glad to hear ’90s electronica/rave music making a comeback. Now bring on the X! (I kid, I kid…..)
On Monday, a judge in Southern California granted a default judgment against Kelis in a lawsuit that accused the “Acapella” singer of failing to pick up the tab for a hair weave.
The suit claimed Kelis — who receives about $55,000 in monthly alimony payments from soon-to-be ex-hubby Nas — got a high-end weave at a salon in Santa Monica last May but never paid the $5,000 bill. According to TMZ.com, the stylist showed up for the trial Monday morning, but Kelis was MIA. Therefore, the judge entered a default judgment against the star for the full amount.
Have you seen the official music ideo for Kelis’ comeback single, “Acapella.” This video had outstanding and original art direction but the production of the video itself leaves something to be desired. Sorry Kelis, but Lady Gaga has the market on weird music videos cornered at the moment. Time to send this milkshake back to the year.
Kelis loves the gays! The soon-to-be former Mrs. Nasir Jones shook her “Milkshake” for all the boys at Club 57 in New York City Saturday — home to the largest gay dance party in the city every Saturday night. Kelis even did a full split for fans.
Kelis is telling PETA to kiss her grits! The “Milkshake” has slammed the animal rights organization after they blasted her for wearing fur. Kelis has made her feelings clear in an open letter after receiving a PETA missive asking her to stop wearing the fur of animals.
A judge in Los Angeles thinks Nas can afford to pay a little more in monthly support to his soon-to-be ex-wife Kelis, and the estranged couple’s infant son, Knight.
On Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Cunningham III ordered the legendary lyricist to increase his monthly child and spousal payments to $51,101. Nas has been paying nearly $40,000 a month to support Kelis and young Knight since the baby’s birth in July.
