Reggaeton hitmaker Daddy Yankee was hospitalized on Ffor acute viral syndrome and dehydration on Friday. The “Rompee” artist has become exhausted after completing several promotional appearances related to his new album, “El Cartel: The Big Boss.” Yankee has cancelled his appearance on the MTV Tr3s float in Sunday’s Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.

Reggaeton is definitely a dying breed, but Yankee once again tries to throw the Latin-laced genre back into the mainstream with the remix to “Impacto,” featuring BEP frontwoman The Fergie One.

Jennifer Lopez has threatening legal action against a mainstream publication claiming that her third marriage to salsa singer Marc Anthony is on the rocks, but celeb snitches are tattling that the Nuyorican beauty actually blames her hubby Marc Anthony for her flop of a Spanish language album.

According to sources, the album’s commercial failure is Marc’s fault because “he demanded she reach the “Latina” side of herself and he looked over production.” Jenn’s latest album has sold 50,000.

Reggaeton goddess Ivy Queen is being sued for $10 million dollars by her former manager Jorge “Goguito” Guadalupe Delgado.

According to “Goguito,” he started negotiations with Univision for The Queen, she told him to go with another deal. She then decided to sign with Univision and had her lawyers call and fire him.

Reggaeton pillar Ivy Queen was recently spotted promoting her upcoming album “Que Lloren” in Los Angeles.

Jennifer Lopez’s first Spanish album, “Como Ama Una Mujer,” has sold a mere 49,452 copies, according to hitsdailydouble.com.

The LP finished at No. 10 for the week, behind a repackaging of Elton John’s greatest hits.

That comes as a blow for J. Lo, who was expecting the Spanish language album was a calculated move to win back the audience she lost as her pop albums oscratized folks closest to her Nuyorican roots.

Jenn found herself banned from America’s largest chain of Latin record stores last week.

And the former “It” Girls’ film career isn’t fairing much better.

Jennifer recently starred in two unreleased studio bombs, “Bordertown,” co-starring Antonio Banderas and directed by Gregory Nava, and “El Cantante,” which co-stars husband Marc Anthony as salsa legend Hector Lavoe.

Picturehouse is holding the latter for release on Aug. 1, reviews have been mixed. And according to snitching sources, no one seems to know why the movie has a Spanish title since it’s all in English.

And this time he promises to pour more gasolina on the wanning reggaeton fire. The Cartel: The Big Boss, to be released June 5, continues to expand reggaeton’s power and reach by featuring such diverse guest artists as Fergie, Jim Jones, Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls, Akon, and Will.i.am from Black Eyed Peas.

Akon and Will.i.am also produce. So do Mr. ColliPark and Scott Storch (the latter producing the first single, “Impacto”) along with Reggaeton producers Eli “El Musicologo”, Tiny Tunes, Diesel and Menace.

“Reggaeton needs a change and I’m changing too,” says Daddy Yankee. “You can’t rest on the past. This album is very different. My roots are still there but now there’s more, a side of me people haven’t seen, including hip-hop. And I know the power music has too. I’m a leader in Latin culture. The album talks about the role we’re playing in society. For people that don’t know what’s happening, we need to let them know what’s going on,” Yankee says.
