Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV has set an Itunes record after selling over 300,000 downloads in its first four days of release. The disc is Weezy’s first since he was sprung from New York City’s notorious Riker’s Island Jail last year, after serving eight months on a gun charge.

Lil Wayne has announced that he’ll release his long-awaited album, Tha Carter IV, online at midnight on Aug. 29.

Tha Carter IV will be sold on Amazon.com, iTunes, and a host of online retailers before going on sale in stores later that same day. It’s Lil Wayne’s first album since he was released from New York’s Rikers Island after spending eight months behind bars on a weapons charge. His last project, Tha Carter III, was the best-selling album of 2008.

“I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others,” Weezy says of the disc, which features collaborations with Drake, Busta Rhymes, Cory Gunz, and Rick Ross.

Meanwhile, the Young Money boss is up for two Moonmen at next weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards, the show airs live from L.A.’s Nokia Theater on Aug. 28.

The annual MTV Video Music Awards are set for Aug. 28 and the first promo for the show stars saggin’ hip-hopster Lil Wayne. The Young Money boss, along with Adele and Chris Brown, is slated to perform on the show, which will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The event coincides with the Aug. 29 release of Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, Tha Carter IV.

She’s already the daughter of a millionaire, but at just 12, Reginae Carter, is already “Stuntin’ Like Her Daddy” and pocketing some serious guap of her own.

TMZ.com has uncovered documents that show just how much the preteen daughter of rap star Lil Wayne and his ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter is making to appear on Toya: A Family Affair, the Tiny & Toya BET spinoff she’ll appear on alongside her mom later this year. The production company behind the show is legally obligated to file a minor’s contract with Los Angeles County Superior court so Reginae can get paid for her work on the show.

According to the contract, Reginae will earn $2,000 an episode, plus expenses. With an 11 episode guarantee already on tap for the first season, she’s expected to bring home a salary of $22,000. Reginae will also received a five percent raise for every additional season she is on the show. She even has an account set up so the money she makes will be kept safe until she turns 18, in 2016. Per Reginae’s contract, the show must provide air transportation if she’s required to travel more than 75 miles from her home.

With the help of a few Photoshopped tattoos, Lil Wayne is using his second grade cap and gown photo as the cover art of his upcoming album, Tha Carter IV. As devoted hip-hop heads will recall, the oft-incarcerated rapper used one of his baby pictures to front his platinum-selling 2008 blockbuster Tha Carter III.

Weezy drops this June.

The native New Yorker took their I Am Music II trek to Long Island for the first of two dates at Nassau Coliseum and gave fans an eyeful during Minaj’s set, when she decided against pulling a lucky fan up onstage for her concert stunt – and instead chose to work over Weezy.

But that hasn’t stopped the newest addition to the American Idol judges’ panel from jumping back on the rap bandwagon.Jenny from the Block is teaming up for a collab with Young Money boss Lil Wayne.

Weezy, who recently replaced Nas as Jen’s favorite emcee, is featured on her forthcoming single “I’m Into You,” which appears on her forthcoming seventh album, Love?, due in May.

“My next single I believe will be a song called ‘I’m Into You’ and it’s going to feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that. Lil Wayne is very unique and fresh. Plus he’s on my single!” Lopez revealed speaking to fans during an online chat with fans over the weekend.

The singer-and-actress scored major success in the US with her last single, ‘On The Floor’ – which has rocketed to No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

“The minute RedOne played it for me, I made him play it 20 times in a row, and I just sat there at the board and I kept listening to it and listening to it. Because I really feel like, emotionally, I connected to it, but also because of how much I love to dance and how much that’s always been such a big part of who I am since I started.”

Life after Riker Island is bringing out the charitable side of Lil Wayne. The multiplatiunm-selling hip-hopster purchased a $11,000 motorized wheelchair for a disabled New Jersey woman after receiving heart-wrenching letters from her daughter during his eight-month stint behind bars.

The rapper, released from prison last month, brightened the season for the mother of one of his biggest fans by purchasing her a brand-new set of wheels, The New York Daily News said Monday.

While incarcerated, the hip-hop star often looked forward to receiving letters from Ronda Austin, 39, a fan who contacted him on an almost weekly basis. After reading her heartfelt messages about her life and her mother, Evelyn – a 64-year-old former nurse who has been in a wheelchair for 15 years since her knees gave out – Wayne reached out to Ronda a phone call and a surprise.

Upon reaching her and inquiring about Evelyn’s wheelchair, which had been damaged after she took a fall at church.

“Don’t worry about it. I got you,” Wayne told her.

Soon thereafter, Evelyn was the recipient of an $11,000 motorized wheelchair, courtesy of Young Money.

“I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t ask for nothing,” Ronda said. “I just told him all kinds of things about me. I never even said I needed help.”

Mom Evelyn added: “I pray for him every night thanking him for this chair. I love every bit of it. It changed my life.”

Nina Packer heads up Wayne’s charitable foundation. She says the rapper was “compelled” to help the Austins after corresponding with Ronda.

“He wanted to buy Mrs. Austin the Maybach of wheelchairs.”

On Wednesday, Weezy released the first single from his upcoming albumn, Tha Carter IV, dropping in Feb. 2011. The track is called “6′7″” and features Young Money artist Cory Gunz of the Bronx.

Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj will headline NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly 2011 (Dec. 31 11PM-1AM) in New York City, the network said Monday.

“With performances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and My Chemical Romance, this will truly be an energetic and celebratory night,” the former Total Request Live host said in a statement. “Sitting down and drinking champagne with Bono and The Edge is on my ‘bucket list’ — so getting to do that is awesome!”

Since Nicki is scheduled to host the New Year’s Eve Bash at Miami Beach hotspot Mansion, Weezy and Minaj are expected to pre-tape their performance for the two-hour holiday special.
