Sporting his recently cut down coif, Lloyd shows that he’s still Mr. Swagnaficient — with or without his famous mane.

In September, the ATLien shaved the length braids he’s been sporting since his 2004 debut, donating the hair to Locks of Love — a non-profit organization that creates human hair wigs for patients suffering medically-induced hair loss.

Call it a new look for Lloyd. The R&B singer has been rocking shoulder-length locks that would put Pocahontas to shame, but the new Interscope signee — under Polow Da Don’s Zone 4 imprint — recently hit up a barbershop in his native Atlanta to switch up his signature ‘do for a worthy cause. Lloyd’s cut his hair and decided to donate the healthy tresses to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that uses hair donations to provide wigs to people suffering medical-related hair loss.

In a post BET Awards backstage interview with Rap-Up on Sunday, R&B singer Lloyd claimed he advised Chris Brown to open up his heart and shed tears during his Michael Jackson tribute in order to claw back into the good graces of the public.

“He’s back with a vengeance,” Lloyd said about Brown’s performance, which included a complete emotional breakdown during a performance of MJ’s 1987 anthem “Man In The Mirror.” “I think that they’re gonna find a place in their heart for him again….I told him man, you gotta go up there, you gotta cry, you gotta really show your heart to the world and they’ll understand.”

But after following under the ire of Chris’ legion of devoted (or delusional depending on who’s telling the story), Lloyd is changing his tune. Lloyd now claims his words were taken out of context. He was simply saying that he was telling Chris to let his emotions flow.

“I consider Chris a friend. He’s been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go on stage and cry. We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn’t really seen him be vulnerable about his situation last year [with Rihanna]. I thought he was holding back and needed to let that emotion out. Him crying at the BET Awards was real, I could feel it.”

He went on to say: “I think he cried about a number of things. About the fact that he thought people would hate him forever because of one mistake. Feeling that love on stage was probably overwhelming. Plus MJ being gone and him performing “Man in the Mirror”, that song is powerful, especially for his situation. It pushed him over the edge.”

Hines booked Banks to perform several tracks at Club NV, but arrived late and only played one song before leaving the stage. Hines refused to pay the tardy Banks for the gig, reportedly prompting a fight between the promoter and the rapper, who had been accompanied by three associates.

Hines was admitted to a local hospital and treated for multiple contusions and head trauma. Banks is facing charges of assault, robbery, and forced confinement.

“I don’t fuck with Hollywood bitches and she’s like one of the chicks that’s just changed along the way with the fame and the money and all of that. I don’t really get down with her anymore on some real shit. The truth hurts, but it will set you free. But I wish her all the best,” Lloyd reveals in the new issue of Hip Hop Weekly.

R&B singer Lloyd has parted ways with his longtime label home at The Inc.

After releasing three albums with Irv Gotti’s imprint, Lloyds insists the split was amicable.

He tells AllHipHop.com, “I’m ready for a change. There’s no bad blood. I just feel I need to take more control over my career and get a fresh start. Hopefully Irv can understand my position.”

Lloyd’s manager, Henry ‘Noonie’ Lee, adds: “Even though Lloyd is appreciative of the opportunity that has been afforded him by The Inc, he feels it’s time for him to move on and seek opportunities that will allow him to build and enhance his brand.”

Lloyd’s departure comes just a month after Ashanti reportedly walked out of her contract with Irv & Co.
