Singer and songwriter Mary J. Blige stopped by The Early Show Friday to discuss her new initiative with Degree and her upcoming free concert in Times Square.
On March 22, 2010, Blige will give a special outdoor performance at as part of Degree’s “Dare to Join Forces with Nature” event.

Mary J. Blige is going back to The Bronx. The Bronx, New York native, who has clocked six Grammy Awards since her 1992 debut album, will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the American National Anthem, at the upcoming sixth game of baseball’s World Series at Yankee Stadium Wednesday evening.
Mary J. will sing before the New York Yankees take on the Philadelphia Phillies in the final game of the 2009 series.
Mary J Blige has stepped up her campaign to help victims of domestic abuse – by opening a refuge for battered women in New York.
