They did it again! R&B singer Monica wed her husband, Los Angeles Laker Shannon Brown, for the second time over the weekend -– this time sealing the deal in front of hundreds of guests, PEOPLE has learned.

The 30-year-old songbird — who is currently working on her seventh studio album — wed Shannon, 25, in a Christian ceremony at a renovated 19th century cathedral in Downtown Los Angeles on Saturday. Monica and her basketball beau first wed in a small, private ceremony last November. This time, guests, included fellow “Basketball Wife” Lala Vasquez and Knicks hoopster Carmelo Anthony. Fellow Laker stars Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher, were asked to wear shades of blue to the joyous event, while the glowing bride wore a gown by Stephan Roland.

The couple’s friends and family enjoyed a three-course meal following the 30-minute ceremony at tables adorned with hydrangea and rose centerpieces by Mark’s garden.

Monica has two sons, Rodney III, 6, and Romelo Montez, 3, with her ex-fiance, Rodney “Rocko” Hill. Shannon also has a son from a previous relationship.

Newlywed R&B songbird Monica looks for love on “Anywhere (To Find You),” the Missy Elliott-produced first single from her upcoming seventh studio album, New Life.

With a little help from hip-hopster Rick Ross and Lil’ Kim (Who just so happens to be the nemesis of her BFF, Keyshia Cole. But that’s a different story for a different day…) Ms. Arnold returns to the R&B world with a track that samples the late Notorious B.I.G.’s famed “Who Shot Ya?” and borrows the line “Like sweet morning dew/ I take one look at you/ And it was plain to see/ You were my destiny…” from Mary J. Blige’s 1995 hit, “You’re All I Need to Get By.”

New Life is tentatively scheduled for release on Oct. 4.

Meet the NBA’s newest Basketball Wife: R&B songbird Monica!

The singer and mother-of-two slam-dunked herself a husband after secretly marrying Los Angeles Lakers hoopster Shannon Brown over the holidays, following a whirlwind romance that began only weeks before the wedding.

The couple — who met on the set of Monica’s “Everything to Me” video shoot in June — celebrated their nuptials at their Los Angeles home on Nov. 22. They’re planning to renew their vows in a more elaborate ceremony with family and friends this summer.

“This is a very special time in my life. I am blessed to have married the man that God sent me. He’s loving, compassionate, strong and supportive of my children, family and career. I look forward to our lives together,” Monica told HipHollywood.com on Friday.

Shannon confirmed the wedding news on Wednesday telling Hip-Hop NonStop TV: “It’s true. I really don’t know what else to say about it – it’s true. That’s my wife, I’m her husband. We’re going to continue to make positive things happen.”

Monica was involved in a long-term romance with her rapper “baby daddy” Rocko for more than four years. They have two sons, Rodney III and Romelo Montez.

The R&B songbird has abandoned her Twitter account after being disillusioned with a myriad of negative comments that followed the announcement that she is engaged to wed NBA star Shannon Brown — who she’s been dating only four months, mind you.

On Sunday, Monica hit her Twitter to flash the massive rock she’d received from her “Love All Over Me” co-star. Instead, she drew a lot of criticism from some of her followers. While some fans congratulated her and wished her well, others criticized how fast the two are moving and judged how quickly she seems to fall in love with unsavory men — ie: C-Murder and baby daddy Rocko.

Monica, seemingly in no mood for criticism, quit Twitter all together.

“Hey there. I want to thank all of u who have been so supportive of myself & family for so many years. I hate to say this But I will no longer be on twitter. I love the fact that I am able to speak to my REAL supporters but it has also become a way for people to do malicious things, when my sole intent was to spread positivity. I love u guys dearly and will find ways to stay in touch. I have dear Friends on twitter & team Monica will make sure u have all information on dates etc.”

R&B songbird Monica has one very big reason to smile: A blinding new engagement ring from Los Angeles Lakers star Shannon Brown.

Shannon and Monica met when the hoopster appeared in the crooner’s “Love All Over Me” music video in June. They began dating a short time later.

In a series of Tweets, Monica showed off her bling, explained her excitement to her fans, and re-Tweeted the post of supporters, who have defended the single mother of two against claims that she is rushing into a romance with a man she barely knows.

“We realize people will have their opinions. That’s the way of the world.But we know who we are&who’s we are. We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether. And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporters who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u, & I’m realistic enough about life. To know my journey has just begun. I don’t have anything else to say about it.2 people who judge. If u worked on self u wouldn’t even see me.”

Monica has two children with producer/rapper Rocko. That relationship ended in March.

The powers-that-be at BET might want to think twice before asking Fox to critique BET Awards red carpet fashions — that is if they want to stay in the good graces of the “For You I Will” songbird. Apparently Viv wasn’t very flattering when it came to her assessment of Monica’s avant garde gown, and MoMo wasn’t pleased. On Monday, Monica hit her Twitter page with a personal attack on Vivica’s age and fashion sense.
