A uncharacteristically-subdued Nicki Minaj shows off her acting chops (and a new lacefront) in the video promo for “Right Thru Me” — the latest single from her debut album, Pink Friday, dropping Nov. 22.
In the video, Nicki and her male love interest — played by French model Willy Monfret — breakup to make-up, hitting the sheets and later the shower.
“The concept of the video is boy-and-girl relationship drama, all of the intimate stuff as well as the fighting as well as the self-reflecting type stuff,” Nicki explained earlier this month. “It’s basically just a love story told from the perspective of a very hard girl who doesn’t want to give in but she has to.”
Here’s the high-energy, highly-choreographed video for “Yeah 3X” — the next single from Ike Turner Jr.’s Chris Brown’s upcoming album F.A.M.E.
“Thank you GOD for allowing me to inspire the world with the abilities you have given!!!” Chris told his 980,000 Twitter followers after the premiere of what some are calling his “unofficial comeback video.” “And thanks for my wonderful fans. Thanks for allowing me to share this with you. It’s my ART. If your world is gloomy, there are only two things to do… DREAM and DANCE!!”
In related news, Nelly — who collaborated with “Beat Her Down” on his own LP Nelly 5.0 — believes the 21-year-old crooner should no longer have to apologize for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna almost two years ago because “he’s learned his lesson now.”
“What people seem to forget is that this was a kid, a kid that made a mistake that, sadly, grown men make every day,” Nelly told reporters during the MOBO Awards in London Thursday. “If we’re going to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, it should be a kid. Chris has been through a lot, he’s learned his lesson now.”
