Singing legend Patti Labelle discusses her new album on The Today Show-June 11th, 2008.

Patti Labelle has teamed up with Especially Yours to launch her own line of wigs. The Patti Labelle Collection will be released later this month.

“I’ve always wanted my own line of fabulous wigs and hair pieces. As fate would have it, Especially Yours came knocking. They’ve noticed and loved my different hairstyles over the years and were eager to develop a line of wigs and hairpieces inspired by Patti LaBelle,” she says of the collection.

Ms. Patti describes her wig line as: “very classic–in the sense that all the styles represent and reflect me, classically. Also, because each style is timeless and classic in its own right. I would also say that there is a style for every black woman–from short to long, synthetic and human hair, plus exclusive custom colors sure to turn heads!”

The line will launch with 10 styles: Ageless Beauty, ‘Black Majesty, Dynamite Diva, Enchanted Evening, Flame, and Sunday’s Best in synthetic hair; and Lady LaBelle, Lovely Lady, Patti Fab, and Sassy LaBelle in 100% human hair. Each will be available in a selection of stunning brunettes, reds and highlights, as well as in LaBelle’s custom blended colors.

Prices range from $49 for synthetic hair to $99 for human hairstyles.

The singing legend says “a line of shampoos, conditioners, and sheens to care for and style the wigs is on the way along with “some fun accessories such as jewelry–all my favorite earrings–and some magnificent eye lashes!”

Patti Labelle flipped out on a fan during a concert in Kansas City, MO last Friday night. Miss. Patti brought an audience member up and the two started dirty dancing a little bit. Patti then said to the audience “Oooooh, he was coming so close.” The audience member responded with, “I think you wanted it more than I did.”

Patti told him: “You’re rude! You are very frickin’ rude! I don’t play that! This is not Lil’ Kim! Do you know who I am?!”

Sixty-three year old songstress Patti Labelle is the latest name dropped as possible new cast members on their way to ‘The View.’

“She would definitely consider it,” says an insider.

Ciara, Patti LaBelle and Lynn Whitfield will star in CodeBlack Entertainment’s “Mama, I Want to Sing!,” a film adaptation of the one-time Off-Broadway gospel musical.

“Mama” will start production in Baton Rouge, La., June. It’s slated for theatrical release next February under CodeBlack’s multi-picture deal with Fox’s FoxFaith label.

Codeblack topper Jeff Clanagan will produce with Marvet Britto (”Shadowboxer” and “The Woodsman”) and Holly Davis Carter (”The Gospel”). Pic’s written and directed by Charles Randolph-Wright (”Preaching to the Choir”).

“Mama, I Want to Sing!” is the story of a preacher’s daughter, who rises from the church choir to pop stardom; is is based on Doris Troy, best known for the 1963 hit “Just One Look.”

The stageplay showed on more than 2,400 performances between 1983 to 1991.

Ok, maybe not a liplock, more like a Mom/Daughter peck. The pair were presenters at Tuesday night’s GLADD Media Awards: “mainstream media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.”
