So much for the Love Letter Tour… Foreclosed Foddler R. Kelly is “laid up undefinitely” after undergoing emergency throat surgery this week.

Doctors at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital drained an abscess on one of Kelly’s tonsils on Tuesday, according to Kelly’s longtime publicist Allan Mayer. Mayer says the Grammy winner, 44, had been complaining of throat pain recently and was rushed to the hospital after a throat exam uncovered the infection.

Well, that depends on who you ask.

Kelly has failed to make mortgage payments on his multimillion-dollar suburban Chicago home and now may lose the property to lenders, court documents show. In a foreclosure action filed in Cook County Circuit Court last month, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank N.A. claims that the singer had not made a monthly payment on his 11,000-square-foot home in Olympia Fields since June 2010. The current principal balance on the loan was more than $2.9 million, not including unpaid interest, which accrues at rate of $251 a day. The “Love Letter” singer stopped making payments on the mortgage in an attempt to force the bank to negotiate a modification of the loan, according to sources. Kelly hasn’t lived in the home for more than a year and currently resides in his hometown of Chicago.

The two-story house, constructed 11 years ago by Kelly, sits behind a gate on a 3.7-acre site. It features six full bathrooms, seven half-baths and a four-car garage, according to the Cook County Assessor’s website. The original loan issued in 1999 was for $3.5 million, according to the lawsuit, and the monthly payments were $24,345.12. The property has a number of liens on it, according to the lawsuit, including nearly $2 million from the Department of the Treasury.

Allan Mayer, spokesperson for the R&B Man, declined to comment about the foreclosure. He tells The Associated Press, however, that Kelly isn’t in financial trouble.

The last time R. Kelly got overexposed, he ended up on trial for lewd acts with a minor — of course, that won’t stop Uncle Chester from spilling all of the secrets trapped away in a dark corner of his closet on the pages of a new tell-all memoir.

Kellz is ready to expose his innermost thoughts about the teen sex scandal, divorce, and beef that have plagued his multiplatinum-selling career on the pages of an upcoming memoir, titled Soulacoaster.

“I’m writing this book as Robert, not R. Kelly,” he said. “I’m tired of being misunderstood. I will show you the tears, fears, and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is.”

Soulacoaster is expected to hit booksellers’ shelves in 2012.

The book promises to addresss all his drama, including the best-seller’s child pornography scandal that ended with an acquittal in 2008. The story will include Kelly’s early life in crime-ridden Chicago, the loss of his mother, and his rise from struggling singer to selling 34 million albums.

“I’m writing this book as Robert, not R. Kelly,” the singer says in a statement. “I’m tired of being misunderstood. I will show you the tears, fears, and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is.”

The autobiography is untitled right now and scheduled for release by Tavis Smiley’s SmileyBooks in 2011.

R. Kelly isn’t back on the prowl for Girl Scouts — at least not yet.

A rep for the Pied Pisser has vehemently denied a National Enquirer scoop claiming the star’s Chi-Town home was recently searched by police on the hunt for a missing 17-year-old girl Kellz has been sexing.

Kelly is not involved in any investigation, authorities say.

“A wildly exaggerated and inaccurate report has been circulating on the Internet that Olympia Fields police showed up at R. Kelly’s house with a search warrant just before the singer left for his three-week concert tour in Africa last month and then searched the place looking for a missing 17-year-old girl,” rep Allan Mayer said in a statement.

“This is completely false. No police ever showed up at Kelly’s house with a search warrant nor was his house ever searched. It is also not true, as the unsubstantiated report claimed, that any such girl ever stayed overnight in Kelly’s house or that she had been there but left shortly before some mythical police search.”

R. Kelly is eager to record a duet with Amy Winehouse.

The controversial singer — who was cleared of child porn charges in 2008 — has revealed that he is a big fan of the troubled Grammy winner and would love to put together a track with her.

“Amy Winehouse. ‘Rehab’. I love that song,” Kelly told Metro. “I’d definitely love to work with Amy Winehouse. I love the ‘Rehab’ song. She has balls to do that. I love that. I love that she kept it real and I would love to do a song with her.”

R. Kelly and his wife Andrea finalized their on Thursday, wrapping up 11 years of marriage, lawyers for the former couple confirm.

“The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage, and will share joint custody of their three children,” their Chicago-based lawyers said in a joint statement. “The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time.”
