R. Kelly is trying to leave his longtime label Jive for a new deal with Universal’s Interscope Records, according to new reports on Monday.
Kellz’ new LP 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, the fourth installment of the 12 Play series, will likely be the singing star’s final release on Jive,The Business Sheet claims.
R. Kelly sparked rumors that he will ditch the label after his management team began seeking a more lucrative deal for future projects late last week.
A Chicago jury has acquitted R. Kelly on all counts at his child pornography trial. In 2002, the R&B superstar was charged with appearing on a graphic videotape with a thirteen year old girl. Both Kelly and the now twenty-three year old woman denied they were featured on the tape.

Carey Kelly, the baby brother of Grammy Award-winning singer R. Kelly, aired the accused baby raper out on The Wendy Williams Experience on Friday. According to Carey, who Robert has accused of being the real Kelly brother in the now infamous sex tape, Robert cannot read or write and has always had an attraction towards teen girls.
R. Kelly’s child pornography trial briefly delayed on Thursday when crazed fan Debra Triplett gained access to a freight elevator reserved for the jurors in the courthouse and began to shout “Free R. Kelly!” repeatedly, until she was arrested by police.
Debra is being held on $50,000 bond, she is due back in court for a hearing on June 25th.
Opening arguments have begun in R. Kelly’s long-awaited child pornography trial. The forty-one year old singer is accused of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl who prosecutors say was between thirteen and sixteen when the tape was made between Jan. 1, 1998, and Nov. 1, 2000. The alleged victim, now twenty-three, maintains she is not the girl featured in the infamous sex tape.
“A child doesn’t choose to be violated and placed on a videotape, a videotape that will live on forever — long after this child becomes an adult,” Cook County prosecutor Shauna Boliker told jurors during opening arguments.
