“There was no person when I looked at him,” the 21-year-old Rihanna recalled during the second installment of an interview witg Diane Sawyer. ‘‘He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank.”

During the interview, she confirmed that Brown, 20, held her in a headlock twice and bit her on the ear and fingers the night before the 2009 Grammys last February. The attack occurred in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood as Brown drove a rented sports car.

“I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong,” Rihanna said. “It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself…I’ll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: ‘Don’t react off of love.’”

Rihanna, 21, also hinted that it may have taken “eight or nine attempts” before she could finally leave the relationship.

“It’s pretty easy to go back….When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she says. “I couldn’t be responsible for that. Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say they won’t kill these girls? I didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”

ABC will air more chunks of the interview on Friday’s GMA. The interview will air in its entirety Friday evening on 20/20.

Rihanna will sit down with Diane Sawyer in an interview that is scheduled to air on Good Morning America on Thursday, Nov. 5 and Friday, Nov. 6 @ 7AM ET — an extended interview will broadcast on Nov. 6 @ 10PM ET on the ABC newsmagazine 20/20.

“The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other,” Rihanna tells Diane. “This happened to me… and it can happen to anybody. He was definitely my first big love.”

According to ABC News, Rihanna will also talk about her family life, growing up in Barbados and how life has been for her since her split from Brown, who was sentenced to five years of probation, community labor and one year of domestic violence counseling.

Rihanna’s first interview since the assault also coincides with the release of her new album, Rated R, which drops Nov. 23.

The pop star says she’s now ready to use the media attention to help other women caught in violent relationships.

She tells Glamour Magazine: “Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbour know that you fight. It’s one of the things we (women) will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery,” Rihanna explains.

“The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.”

Disgraced singer Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna after a pre-Grammy Awards party and has since been sentenced to community service and five years’ probation.

Rihanna, who is releasing her fourth studio album, Rated Ron Nov. 23, will give her first TV interview since the Chris Brown attack on ABC’s Good Morning America this Thursday.

The ladies posed for the cameras at Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s annual All Hallow’s Eve Bash on Saturday night.

For the first time since being assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February, Rihanna is ready to speak out — and she’s doing it with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

The singer will break her silence in a new interview on ABC’s Good Morning America this Thursday, Nov. 5, a rep for Rihanna confirmed Monday. An extended interview will also be featured on Friday night’s edition of 20/20.

Rated R debuts Nov. 23.
