So long, Sean John!

In the latest sign of a crippled economy, Diddy has made the executive decision to shut down his flagship Sean John store in the Big Apple next month, Women’s Wear Daily said this week.

The Fifth Avenue store will close its doors on Dec. 30, the Bad Boy boss has confirmed.

Of course, all is not lost. Earlier this year, Diddy signed an exclusive deal with Macy’s, which will remain the Go-To locale for all your Sean John needs.

Diddy has launched an online competition to find the new face of his Sean John fashion line.

“Attention all aspiring male models!! I am looking for the new face of Sean John,” Diddy wrote on his Official Twitter page Thursday.

The Bad Boy mogul is giving wannabe catwalk master until the end of the day on Friday, May 1 to post their pictures on his website, where visitors can vote for their favorite contender.

The winning contest will star in Sean John’s Fall/Winter 2009 promo campaign.

As part of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009, Diddy hosted the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Sean Jean at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City on Thursday.

Diddy is featuring his son Christian Combs in an ad campaign for the Autumn/Winter 08/09 Sean John collection.

“To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” Diddy said in a statement. “And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign.”

Nelly says he’s honored to be affiliated with company:

“So when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”

Diddy will celebrate the tenth anniversary of his Sean John clothing line with a documentary about the label’s success.

If I Were King is a 90 minute documentary that will show Diddy going through the process of designing a line and bringing it to the forefront of the urban shopping world.

“The whole process of putting on a fashion show is so crazy and I feel that the audience really has no idea what it’s like.”

“This will showcase everything a designer goes through — there’s laughter, pain, drama…all the makings of a movie. Also, since I haven’t done a show in five years, I was a bit insecure, which I thought would be interesting to show on camera.”

‘If I Were King’ will air at 10 pm April 9th on MTV.
