Being Mr. Alicia Keys is turning into a pretty lucrative gig for hip-hopster Swizz Beatz.
On Friday, the sometimes rapper and superproducer was named as the first-ever producer-in-residence at the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at New York University’s world-renowned Tisch School of the Arts.
Effective immediately.
According to school administrators, Swizz (real name Kaseem Dean) will be offering group lectures, one-on-one sessions, and mentoring as well as songwriting advice to Tisch students. The former DJ is a native of New York’s gritty South Bronx and has produced hits for acts including Drake, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Metallica, Eve, and Beyonce.
