More financial woes for R&B star Toni Braxton. The “Unbreak My Heart” songbird and her estranged husband, Mint Condition star Kerry Lewis — allegedly owes $396,000 in back taxes to the US government, The Detroit News said Monday.
Braxton and Lewis, who separated last year, reportedly owe federal income taxes for 2007 and 2008. The tax debt is just the latest in a series of financial difficulties for Braxton, who has been cash-strapped since a heart aliment forced her to abandon her popular headlining gig on the Las Vegas strip two years ago. She is being sued by bank officials who claim she owes them more than $1 million for an unpaid loan. Toni is also rumored to have fallen behind in mortgage payments on her California home.
