Will Smith’s production company is teaming up with Sony to give Queen Latifah a new daytime talk show in 2013.

The rapper/singer and actress has teamed with Overbrook Entertainment bosses Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and Sony Pictures Television to produce a new series that will impact daytime TV within the next two years, producers say. Latifah and her Flavor Unit Entertainment partner Shakim Compere will co-produce the project.

Overbrook’s spokesman Miguel Melendez says:

“We have known and admired Latifah for over 20 years, dating back to our music days, to her first television role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and years later when she worked with Jada on the film Set It Off. This forum is the perfect place to showcase Latifah’s tremendous range of talents and unique ability to connect and inspire people.”

As you may or may not remember with Warner Bros.’ TelePictures for a talk show that lasted two seasons before being axed in 2001.

Reality TV Stans are about to become very familiar with the name Kimbella “Still Look Pretty” Vanderhee.

If you’re an authority on video vixens, the self-professed biracial butterfly requires little introduction. But in case you aren’t, just know that Kim is the celeb-lovin’ Miami girl who hit the golddigger’s jackpot when she caught the attention of Dipset emcee Juelz Santana on Twitter back in 2009.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Today, Juelz and Kim are the parents of a one-year-old son, also named Juelz. Yet no longer content being just another pretty face attached to a “baller,” Kim is setting out with hopes to invade the pop scene — a transition we’ll see get to see her make when VH1′s Love & Hip-Hop returns for a second season of tomfoolery and “Hoodrat Stuff” on Nov. 14.

Ah — which brings us to the point of this post: Chile, have you seen the supertrailer for this year’s show?! We got our first look at the all-new eppys last week and by the looks of it, Kimbella will be anything but “Belle of the Ball” with Jim Jones’ main squeeze, Chrissy Lampkin. After tuning into the first season of Love & Hip-Hop, we learned two things: 1.) Chrissy had a rep as quite the harlot on the streets of Harlem back in the day. (The girl “allegedly” bedded everyone from Jay-Z to notorious drug dealers Rich Porter and Alpo Martinez in her “Hoe Shit Days.”) and 2.) She’s more desperate for a ring than LeBron James!

But it wasn’t until we watched her first encounter with Kimbella did we learn that Chrissy can scrap with the best of ‘em! Apparently, golddigging isn’t the only thing Homegirl learned on the gritty streets of ’80s Manhattan. And Kimbella’s goose isn’t the only one that got cooked by Ole Chrissy this season; Word on the Curb has it that she physically sparred with new castmember Yandy Smith (Jim’s now former manager) as recently as this month.

Live from New York, it’s Drizzy! Drake wil make his debut as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live Oct. 15, joining guest host Anna Faris. The appearance will coincide with the release of the rapper’s sophomore disc, Take Care, dropping Oct. 24 — Drake’s 25th birthday.

The upcoming season is also expected to be Kim’s final season on the show, as reports swirl that the now mother-of-three and RHOA’s lone White star has been gifted with a new spinoff series featuring her life with NFL beau Kroy Biermann.

Season 4 will see NeNe now separated from husband Greg; Kim in love with Kroy and pregnant with his son; Sheree is trying to build her dream house and battling her ex for child support payments; Kandi is launching a sex toy line; Phaedra is becoming a certified mortician; and Cynthia is continuing her modeling — that is when she isn’t refereeing the feud between her sister and her new husband, restauranter Peter.

The third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta averaged 3.6 million viewers, making it the highest-rated season of the reality show franchise,

Speaking of Tyler Perry, a trailer for the star’s new TBS dramedy, For Better or Worse, has been released. The show stars Tasha Smith and Michael Jai White and is based on their characters, warring spouses Angela and Marcus, from the feature films Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?

Another “Real Housewife” could be headed for Divorce Court: Former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Lisa Wu-Hartwell, who appeared on the Bravo series during the first two seasons, has called it quits with her NFL pro husband, Ed Hartwell, after five years of marriage. The reality star hit Twitter over the weekend to clear up rumors about the separation.

“Sadly. We r seperated but wld NEVER b over money. That is so far frm the truth. Wish ppl cld respect ppl’s privacy during times like these,” Lisa wrote.

She later told one of her followers that the past few weeks have “been rough.”

The couple tied the knot in 2005 and have a 3-year-old son, Ed. Jr. The marriage was the second for Wu-Hartwell, who was previously wed to R&B crooner-turned-radio jock Keith Sweat.

Brandy is returning to the small screen with a recurring role on The CW soap 90210.

The teen drama that previously featured a guest arc with actress Lauren London has cast the Grammy winner as Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a charismatic young politician, TVLine.com reports. Ms. Norwood is no stranger to the small screen; Brandy juggled a singing career with her own UPN sitcom Moesha back in the ’90s. She went on to star in the 1998 horror movie I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and a multicultural TV adaptation of the fairytale Cinderella.

She’ll make her 90210 debut in October.

BET has responded to reports that it’s pulling the plug on its flagship late night gabfest, The Mo’Nique Show….The oft-controversial network is choosing another term for the sudden move: “Production hiatus.”

Word that the Oscar-winning comedienne had been sent packing over at Black Entertainment Television first hit the curb when The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Rodney Ho published the cancellation rumor in his Wednesday column.

“At about 1:30 p.m., I called Rodney Perry, who was Mo’Nique’s sidekick on the show. He said he was running into a meeting and didn’t answer my question. While I was at lunch over at the mall court, at 1:40 p.m. EST, he texted me: ‘I was told indefinite hiatus.’ That’s a euphemism for canceled…” Ho wrote. “This didn’t appear to be an issue of ratings. I didn’t have time to do an entire season’s check on ratings so I sampled four weeks in April, 2011 vs. April 2010. Ratings from April 5 to April 29, 2010 averaged 615,000 viewers a night. From April 4 to April 28, 2011, her show averaged 586,000. That’s only a five percent drop,” the columnist added.

It didn’t take long for BET to shoot back with a statement of its own:

“’The Mo’Nique Show’ will be on production hiatus beginning in the Fall,” network spokesperson Kobe Swanson says. “However, new episodes of the show will continue to air throughout the summer. Mo’Nique Hicks and ‘The Mo’Nique Show’ are important to the BET Networks family and we look forward to continuing our relationship with her.”

Are you sorry to see Mo go?

VH1 has green-lit a second season of its original scripted comedy/drama, Single Ladies. Set in Atlanta and produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit, the show is the network’s first hour-long scripted series and stars Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, and Charity Shea.

“Our viewers have fallen for ‘Single Ladies’ and its honest, modern take on love, female friendship and dating,” said Jeff Olde, VH1′s Executive Vice-President of Original Programming and Production. “We’re extremely pleased to give the audience another great season of the series they love.”

Flavor Unit Entertainment Executive Producer Queen Latifah said: “My partner Shakim [Compere] and I are so excited that ‘Single Ladies’ has been received so well. We knew from the beginning this show was going to appeal to people everywhere; it’s funny, sexy and smart. We are so happy that we were able to join with VH1 to find such a great home for this incredible show.”

Singles Ladies Season 2 is expected to begin filming later this year for a 2012 premiere.
