Maybe Tameka wasn’t the root cause of all of Usher’s problem with Mama Patton, after all. Jive Records is reportedly delaying the release of Usher’s new album Raymond vs. Raymond until the R&B crooner can replace his old momager, Jonetta Patton, with whom he has had another falling out.
“She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend [and former Def Jam executive] Grace Miguel was all in the mix,” says the source. “She felt as though if she didn’t end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship.”
Usher famously fired his mother in 2007, after the stage parent allegedly opposed to his union with then-fiancee, now ex-wife Tameka Foster. Jonetta rejoined her son’s management team in 2008.
