Whitney Houston’s voice was nearly destroyed by drugs. The mulitplatinum-selling star’s November 2008 comeback album was delayed following years of heavy smoking and drug abuse. Whitney’s singing was so unrecognizable when she began recording her new album music mentor Clive Davis ordered her to take singing lessons.
“She was smoking a lot and taking a lot of drugs. Her voice was almost unrecognizable.”

The Grammy Award-winning pop diva spent years treating her stepson like a second-class citizen, twenty-two year old Landon Brown is telling The National Enquirer. Landon, the eldest son of R&B singer Bobby Brown, was recently voted off MTV’s reality hit Rock The Cradle, but according to him, being cast away is a feeling he’s visited a few times in his short journey through life.
In scathing Enquirer article, Landon blasts his former stepmother, accusing the music legend of never accepting him into her family. Landon says Whitney refused to allow him to sleep in her home, kept him away from his baby sister Bobbi Kristina, and even forced him to work as a security guard for her.
“Whitney and I never realy got along. She didn’t necessarily hate me, but she wouldn’t really speak to me either. In Whitney’s eyes, I was the stepchild-that’s how I was treated. I’d get harassed about cocaine rumors almost everyday at school.”

Whitney Houston’s highly-anticipated comeback album could be in stores by November 2008.
Music mogul Clive Davis has revealed that he has recorded five new tracks with the singing legend and he’s pleased with the album’s progress:
“It’s really good. We’re looking to release the album in November.”
Whitney Houston is planning a comeback concert in Malaysia next month. The legendary songbird is expected to preview songs from a long-awaited new album in Kuala Lumpur on December 1.
Whitney Houston made a career comeback at the Fashion Rocks Show in London on Thursday night. The songbird was there to make a speech about the good work done by the British Prince’s Trust. She walked on stage at the finale to a standing ovation, and in a reference to her most famous song she told the audience: ‘I will always love you – very much.’ The 44-year-old introduced the final catwalk show of the night by Swarovski – with Patti La Belle and Sugababes performing Lady Marmalade.
