Mark your calendars, Hip-Hop Fans: “Black & Yellow” rapper Wiz Khalifa’s long-awaited debut album Rolling Papers — a nod to his penchant for The Green Stuff — debuts March 29, featuring a variety of guest appearances and production from Jim Jonsin, Pharrell, and others.
Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa was arrested shortly after taking the stage at university in Greenville, North Carolina overnight.
While details are sketchy, early reports state that Wiz Khalifa was at a show at East Carolina University when police reportedly stopped his show 45 minutes into his set. He was arrested later, as he attempted to board his tour bus. Sources suggest the arrest is related to Khalifa’s penchant for smoking marijuana.
“He was on his way with his band to his bus parked outside, and they stopped him because of a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the bus and the backstage area of the auditorium,” says John Durham, a spokesperson for East Carolina University. “They asked if he would cooperate with officers, and he agreed, and they went on his bus, and then he and nine members of his entourage were arrested on three charges related to marijuana possession.”
