Sixty-five year old Ron Isley is expecting to begin serving a three year prison term on five counts of federal income tax evasion on August 1st and the legendary singer’s Def Jam label is hoping to a presidential pardon will get the ‘Shout’ performer out of the big house.

Def Jam record execs are using their marketing wares to drum up support for an executive presidential pardon for the beloved member of The Isley Brothers family and singing group.

Ron had unpaid taxes between the years 1997 and 2002 of $3.1 million. U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson in Los Angeles called Isley a “serial tax avoider.” The singer will most likely spend his time in a federal hospital due to his recent bout with kidney cancer.
