DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested at his Cave Creek, Arizona, residence or Tuesday after speed cameras caught the rapper ripping down the highway at 114 miles per hour
in his 1966 Chevrolet Nova II.
DMX was slammed with charges of racing on a highway, reckless driving, two counts of endangerment, three counts of speeding and driving on a suspended license. He was booked into jail and released on Wednesday on bond.
“Criminal speeding endangers the lives of everyone on the road,” Arizona State Department of Public Safety director Roger Vanderpool said in a statement. “Mr Simmons wasn’t signaled out because of his notoriety.”
