VIBE announced Eminem as the winner of the urban mag’s “Best Rapper Alive” competition.

The Detroit MC took the crown as the Original King of Hip-Hop with sixty-nine percent of the fan vote, according to VIBE.

“It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive,” Eminem said in a statement Tuesday. “I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah I’ll accept!”

Check out the complete list of the Best Rappers on Earth in the November issue of VIBE, on newsstands October 21.

Half the people on that list don’t deserve to even be mentioned with names like (Eminem, Mos Def, Common, Nas, Wutang, etc) You mother fuckers had Lil Wayne’s biting ass on the list and soulja boy???? are you fucking kidding me?! Em might be the best rapper alive, but that bracket was weak. Rakim, Mobb Deep, D12, Big Daddy Kane, the rest of wutang, tribe called quest… where were they… they blow paul wall and all that whack southern shit out the fuckin water!

Em isn´t only the best rapper alive but the best rapper now and for the future 1000 years…

He´s so brillant and talented, he raps bout real life and politics, not like Jay-z and the others, it´s all about diamonds and naked girls…WTF ?

Em we are waiting for your Relapse, in Africa and Europe and all over the world !

Thank you Vibe for crowning Em for such a prize !

its so obvious Em is the best i mean he signed 50 which is a really high paid rapper and all of his albums have been number one and relapse will prolly be the best one hes made also i agree wit some of the other people, soulja boy has some good songs and i like him but hes still a rookie theres no way he could be the best rapper and i dont like paul wall too much either but hey dont be dissin the south chamillionaire is pretty damn good and T.I. is definately top 5

First of all: The guys above me is a retard. soulja Bitch has no good songs, and T.I. is not top 5. Just shut up and listen to some real shit.

As the other guys above me said: the best rappers alive r Eminem, Nas, Mos Def, Jay-Z, just about any one in Wu Tang, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Lupe, Common, Lupe, Rakim(even tho he’s old), Mobb Deep, D12, Jadakiss, Tribe called quest, the only real good southern rapper is Ludacris, Ice Cube, Kanye (before the bitch started to use auto tune. WTF), Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Dr. Dre, Snoop, just to name a few.

U said lupe twice because he deserves it. Eminem is not the best rapper alive. Don’t get me wrong, i love em, but nas, jay-z, and big daddy kane are better lyricist.

I hear people keep saying “the best rapper alive” are they talking bout studio rappers or actual lyricist? Honestly, if u are just going on record sales and popularity then yes em is by far the best rapper alive. If u are talking about lyricist, then there should be another list.

Are you kidding me, Jay-Z a better lyricist than Eminem, eminem could write cirlces around Jay z and the rest of the people you put on your list

Nas is a god MC; IN HIS OWN CLASS; i mean the illest MC , the best (thug) poet; the most extra ordinary hip hop artist and picture painter; versatile, diverse topics (from politics to love) ; can Em do a track like Ghetto Prisoners)SIMILAR 2 ANYBODY YOU KNOW? + his lyrics/poetry is way too deep to juxtapose to any artist (better Jay); past present and future of hip hop. ILLMATIC is nothing like Marshall Mathers LP…lets cut that crap Eminem is great but bites a lot/took lessons from Nas-go ahead asK him from Nas. he is overrated since he’s white and heavy media and sales are not factors
ooh Nas 4got in ether that Em is his son too>(like a proud dad watchin his only son that made it)

How can the only white boy in the game be the best rapper? Lyrically he’s elite but his flow is weak, plus he ain’t even had a hit in a while. I could name 20 rappers better than Em! Snoop, Nas, Method Man, Ice T, Ice Cube and T.I. to name just a few. Besides that Em is an old ass ‘wigga’ at 36- when Biggie and Pac were both alive they were arguebly the best of that era but they were both in their early 20’s at their peak and still relevant!

To person above? WTF are you saying. Your point is retarded Eminem is old and BIG And PAC were good in their prime……no fucking shit. If BIG and PAC had lived they would have been old too so your point is retarded. Plus I don’t mean to disrespect but I find it hard that your considered the best EVER when you only lived long enough to release 2 albums, its presumptuous to assume they would continue. PAC only talked about how hard it was to be black and BIG never talked about ANYTHING important, just money and girls. Eminem has some of the most mind blowing songs ever that actually touch you emotionally.

^^^^ What the fuck are you saying. So did Big and Pac have songs that touched people emotionally. I’m not hating on Em( He’s absoltuley great!!!) but he’s NOT the Best rapper alive! And I’ll prove it. Listen to BONE THUGS N HARMONY!!! Their the shit! My two favorite ones from the group are Krayzie and Bizzy. If you listen to them your whole perspection will turn around and that goes to you to VIBE!!! They will tear any rapper up alive today and you can bank on it buddy!
