Black Star Power came out on Sunday night as veteran actor Forest Whitaker and former “American Idol” contender Jennifer Hudson added to the short list of African-Americans who have actually taken home Academy Awards.

Jennifer won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role as Effie White in the box office hit “Dreamgirls,” while Forest snagged his first statue playing a Ugandan dictator in “The Last King of Scotland.”
