Gabrielle Union is sad to announce that she is not dating baseball heavyweight Derek Jeter.

Gabrielle dished to PEOPLE Magazine while hanging out at a Pre-Superbowl Party at Bongos Cuban Café in Miami on Thursday: “It’d be great to be dating Derek Jeter. As far as fake relationships go, I’m moving up.”

Reports first surfaced of a Jeter-Union Love Connection following D.J’s split with Jessica Biel early this month-at which point Gaby and Derek were spotted “freak dancing” in a Caribbean nightclub.

Even Gabrielle’s mom thought the two were an item:

“My mom asked me if he was coming for Easter, I said, ‘Mom! I barely know him,’ ” G.U told PEOPLE with a laugh.

“Trust me, if I were dating Derek Jeter, I would hold my own personal press conference to announce it to the world. I’m actually getting a little nervous about when our fake breakup is coming.”
