HipHop Crunch will be featuring one new hip-hop beat each month that you can use totally free of charge. Our only request is that if you use these beats to make money, please give us credit.
In addition to the monthly hiphop beat, we have put together a guide to help you learn the tricks for producing loops, processing audio, and making your own rap tracks.
February 2008 HipHop Beat From HipHop Crunch
This beat we called “Breaking It” - There are some pretty in your face drums, a rather gritty bass and some very lo-fi hihat samples that I crushed to death. The main element though, is the orchestral type brass playing. We tried to get it a little dirty as well. The brass is arranged so that the beat loops very well.

January 2008 HipHop Beat From HipHop Crunch
This beat we call ‘Mechanical guru’. Basically the rhythm consists of a punchy kick drum, FX, hihats and layered hand claps. There are actually two basses going beneath that to create a bigger image. The ‘talking synth’ has sort of a blues guitar quality to it - or something like that - with a phrase that’s being played, then almost repeated, and finally ‘ended’.

December 2007 HipHop Beat From HipHop Crunch
This beat features a fat bassy drum, two basses, a couple of layered claps and chords that I personally think sounds really good. Hope you like it too. As always when I mix beats they get a little tape, vinyl and noise treatment. Dirt is good!

These are some of the wackest beats I’ve ever heard. The quality of the rest of the site is great, though, so I’m sure you could improve this section…

Can’t help but think that if you can get beats as good as these for free here, why do i have to listen to crap beats on the radio?

Hey hip hop crunch,
I am a student at Northwestern University and I am working with a few of my close friends from school to start our own hip-hop label. check out some of our tracks, I think you might like it. We are trying to show hip-hop fans that even smart kids can make the hottest tracks. If you like it, hit me with an email and I can get you much more music.
thanks for your time
