Is There A Kelis-Beyonce Brawl Brewing?
“Bossy” singer Kelis has accused Beyonce of biting her style.
The comments came during a recent interview with Uptown magazine. Kelis was asked whether Beyonce copied her sound for the hit song Ring The Alarm. Kelis responded, “Not to toot my own horn but a lot of girl singers, black and white, are starting to sound like me.”
“Honestly, I did hear myself in that Beyoncé song”, refusing to mention Ring The Alarm by name, “but I didn’t get mad.”
“I figure [that] influencing others is a part of my purpose as an artist.”
