It’s official-Usher has given his life long momanager the boot.

“She and I are on great terms and support each other in our life’s endeavors. We are both very happy but are now working in different areas of the business,” he said in a statement to the Associated Press. “This is great for me because it means I now get to have my mother strictly as my mother with no added pressure.”

“At this time in my life, I am simply more interested in building the strength of my family. And in order to do that, I feel it’s best to separate my business life from my personal life,” he added.

Ush also killed rumors that his fiancee (Who Jonetta Patton hates) will be replacing Momma as manager.

“She has no aspirations of becoming my manager or any other artist’s manager,” he said.

Whatev! Dollars to doughnuts says Tamika/Tameka, or however she spells, told him the Old Woman goes or his pre-wedding coochie gets cut off.

She must have “that special stuff” if she’s worth firing his Moms for.

I think that he made a very mature decision and decided that his mom wasn’t going to manage his career properly if he married Tameka. They need to work out personal issues while also maintaining a close relationship. They have been going through differences even before Tameka was heavy in the picture. I hope that they get through this and everything works out!!!

I am very shocked and saddened by this new. As a family friend and early supporter of the mom and son duo, I witnessed first-hand what Jonetta went through long before his rise to superstardom because I was there. They lived in a very modest townhouse in Dunwoody, Georgia during the time Usher was entered into local talent shows and when he competed on the national hit talent showcase “Star Search”.

During this period Usher’s career was budding, while Jonetta was right there at every turn as a mother and manager. What I admired about her most is that she never wavered in seeing that he accomplished his life-long dream of becoming a music entertainment icon. In fact, close family and friends had always called him by his nickname since infacy, “BIG TIME” that was given to him by his mom.

While tending to his career and even after he signed with LaFace Records, Jonetta continued to work a 9-5 job, made sure Usher kept his schooling and took care of her son James. All this was possible through her faith, belief and relationship with God. It is my prayer that Usher reconsiders his decision immediately and re-establish his business realtionship with his mom and best friend. His decision shoudn’t be based on what he is basing it on. After all, she’s been his mom and manager for 28 years, why all of a sudden he feels he should seperate her from his business. His mom will always be his mom no matter what. There are millions of successful family-business relationships in every area of the business world. I predict, if Usher doesn’t re-consider his decision soon, he’s going to feel the effects from his fans all over the world. He has lost two of the most important people any entertainer would cherish…. a strong, focused and determined manager and his voice to the world media for 10 years, his publicist. This is will defintely have a negative effect on his entire career. And it’s already started with his label, Jive being deeply concerned. Why change a formula that’s successful? Why get rid of the very foundation you have stood on all your life? I’ll see you soon Jonetta. I hope for the best for you “BIG TIME”.
