Island Def Jam has responded to Janet Jackson’s claims that the label is no longer promoting her current album, Discipline.
“Unfortunately we haven’t experienced the results we would have liked with this new album. But we respect and support Janet,” a label rep said in a statement released to Billboard on Wednesday.
Discipline has only sold 392,000 copies in the U.S. since its release last February.
