Jay-Z Sued By Former 40/40 Club Employee

Celeste Williams, a former waitress at New York City’s Jay-Z owned 40/40 Club, has accused the club of keeping a cut of workers’ tips and “willfully failing and refusing to pay them at the legally required minimum wage” and overtime since the Chelsea hotspot opened in 2003, according to the New York City press.
“I find that this is a rampant violation throughout New York City,” Celeste’s lawyer Maimon Kirschenbaum, said in Manhattan on Tuesday.
40/40 Club management said Williams worked at 40/40 for only four days in December 2005.
Club spokesman Ron Berkowitz noted that 40/40 has not yet been served with papers, but said, “The allegations are false.”
