Kanye West and Michael Jackson Sue Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club

The 40/40 Club has been sued by Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) in Manhattan District Court on behalf of Michael Jackson and Kanye West. Kanye and Mike are two of twelve artists who claim that their songs are being played at the popular Jay-Z co-owned nightspot, even though it hasn’t paid up for licenses.
Pharrell’s song “Touch” was allegedly played without a license.
The 40/40 Club claims they have not yet been served.

What? seriously? i never knew you had to have a license to play songs in a club? I thought that once the songs are released or an album is out a DJ can bump them?
Wow seriously.
I know that you need permission to use a song in commercial or movie but in a club?
